SEC series final weekend ....

Here goes another prediction thread about the final SEC weekend series of the year, before the SEC tournament begins in Hoover.

1 Tenn. @ Mizzou Both need the series badly, Tigers get it 2-1
2 LSU @ Auburn Big series for SEC tourney seed, Auburn 2-1
3 Arky @ UGA Another huge series, Hogs only avg. on the road, UGA 2-1
4 Florida @ Miss. State Bullys need at least 1 game, they get 2, MSU 2-1
5 USC @ Tex A&M Aggies home cookin takes it, A&M 2-1
6 Ole Miss @ Bama Tide washed up after this series, Rebels 3-0
7 UK @ Vandy Cats and Dores need the series, Cats somehow win it UK 2-1

The reason I picked MSU over Florida is that O'sullivan will not throw his starters over 4 or 5 innings, to set up his pitching for the SEC tourney. MSU is in desperation mode, and they will have a full house of rowdy fans.

The only alternative would be a 7 inning DH on Saturday, hope it doesn't come down to that !

If you ask me, that should give us a nod over teams like Oklahoma State that hasn't even played a top 15 RPI team this year. To be fair, Ok. State will play their first this weekend against Texas Tech. We need Tech to win the series if not sweep to kill any hopes of State getting the host.

Vandy plays on turf so there are several ways it could go...you can go longer without stopping the game and the field can be dried out much quicker to resume play. Besides weather people are only right 50% of the time anyway.

A bunch of tightly contested series this weekend. I'd like to predict a UK win but this team just hasn't shown that it can be trusted (yet). Winning this series would be UUUUGE.

Nashville weather for this evening is interesting. 70% rain at 6:00 pm central time, tapers off to 40% by 8:00 pm, and then 15% by 10 pm.
