SEC Record Predictions

It's crazy how good the conference is this year. I watched Vandy (probably 15th highest ranked SEC team) pretty well dominate TCU in Fort Worth, followed by Texas A&M thrashing Texas Tech, in a double header a couple of weeks ago. TCU and Texas Tech expect to make the NCAA, so it's not like those two are pushovers. South Carolina would probably be ranked 16th in the SEC, and they have wins over BC and Virginia Tech.

I posted this last week and will stick with it. SEC appears to be very very hard.

The SEC is brutal this year. Appears to be perhaps the best it's ever been. I think 7 total losses heading into the SEC Tourney. Agree with 24-7. Good for a 2 seed.

Will add this. I think we will win a couple that perhaps we shouldn't but also lose a couple that maybe on paper we shouldn't.

11-7
And i think that might be good for 3rd behind Auburn and UT and maybe in line for a 2/3 seed in the NCAAs
I think 7 conference losses is about right
1 SEC tournament loss
1 NCAA tournament loss
I think we finish up with 10 losses. which I think is a pretty damn good year ... all things considered !!
NOTE: This is the WORST that I think we'll do. Clearly, we may certainly end up with fewer losses on the year, hopefully so.
GO CATS !!

12-6 in conference. Probably a few tough road losses such as at Alabama or Tennessee. We’ll take our lumps in conference play but I feel good about this team heading into it. 24-7 record into the SEC Tournament. I feel like we will get a 2-3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and go at least to the Sweet 16.

It will come down to injuries, imo. UK needs to keep the injury bug at bay and work on team defense and rebounding to beat the better teams in the SEC. No predictions as I am not very accurate in making them, especially this year. Would love to see this squad advance in the SEC and NCAA tourneys further than in the recent past as the coaching is a significant upgrade…GBB!

14-4 seems realistic to me
I think @Alabama and @Tennessee seem to be the most obvious threats for a loss.
I think we win one of those. We don’t go to Florida and we ain’t losing to them at Rupp. @Mississippi State and @Mizz seem to be possible losses. I’ll say we lose one of those. There will be 2 losses other than the listed games IMO. Auburn is at Rupp, so a gift of sorts there. @Oklahoma and @Ole Miss will be tough ones.

11-7.

SEC is too strong.

I think there will be a bunch of teams hovering around 10 to 12 wins. Auburn gets to 13 and wins the SEC.
I'm not going to guess who but the regular season winner will be 15 - 3 or better. That could be one of 5 teams.
Kentucky, Auburn, Bama, Tennessee, and Florida. Don't sell Florida short.

I’m with you on this. I’m going 13-5, Auburn at home or on the road is gonna be tough. Winnable but 💯 will need everyone playing their best game to be in it at the end.

11-7 or 12-6. 12-6 will win the SEC and there will no outright champion. I think there will be a 3-way split.

Was about to make a thread about this topic but saw this on the second page. With how good the SEC is this year, I legitimately could see UK finishing anywhere between 14-4 at the highest, and 3-15 at the lowest. Gun to my head, I will predict a 10-8 finish.

Of the 9 road games, I think there are 4 games where I would be very surprised if UK wins: Tennessee, Alabama, Ole Miss, Oklahoma. The rest are toss-ups with how hard road games in the SEC will be in general. I would be ecstatic with 5 road wins, but not surprised with fewer.

Of the 9 home games, I think 6 games will be toss-ups: Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, A&M, Florida, and Arkansas. All of those teams have good coaches and tough teams. Cal seemed to win at least one really hard road game and I have no doubt he has Feb 1 circled so I expect that to be an extremely tough game. The rest (USC, Vandy, LSU) should be wins...

Will be very interesting to see how this plays out. The team showed resilience in the Gonzaga/Duke games, but seemed flustered on their only true road game against Clemson. We had a stretch of really bad shooting before the Louisville game, curious to see how that develops over the rest of the season.

8-10

I don’t think people are fully understanding how tough the SEC is this year. We lost on the road to Clemson and they are horrible. I can’t identify one road game that is an easy win.

We will takes some losses at home too

I am sticking with my original 11-7 record. Wouldn't be shocked at 13-4, also wouldn't be shocked at 9-9. It's going to be a journey one way or the other.
