Bama @ Georgia (-2)
Ole Miss @ Florida (+7)
Arkansas @ Tennessee (-6.5)

A West sweep swings the East wide open and I think pretty much eliminates Tennessee from Atlanta contention (it would be their 2nd conference loss with Georgia and @Alabama still on the schedule).

This. The more east losses the better. UK still needs to take care of business. If UK beats Auburn and Miss. state I may start to let myself freak out a little.

If Tennessee losses to Arkansas then they will probably be riding a 4 game losing streak into Lexington.. So on top of being beat up physically that stretch could/should take a big toll mentally on them

I get what your saying from a SEC East loyality perspective but from a truly selfish UK perspective, I think we want the west to win all those games. The more the east teams loss, to whomever, is better for UK's SEC Postseason chances. Granted, it is highly unlikely that UK will end up in the SEC Championship Game but for any chance for that to happen, we need those SEC East teams to lose.

No, I think the OP is pretty clear he wants the west to win those games. It is in the title, and he expands upon that by how the east teams losing is a good thing. It is not going to happen though. I do not see bama or Arkansas winning.

Double-edged sword. If the East gets swept, it becomes perceived as very weak, which damages the East when it comes to bowl selection. If the East wins, it hurts UK's chances at an SECCG.

Yep, yep...one of those can't win for losing scenarios.

Oh I get it...and your right on the mark..... I was just doing some wishful thinking...

I believe whoever wins the east there is a good chance they have 3 losses. It is possible for UK to be in that mix. We just have to win 2 games that we would be underdogs. Beat Auburn and Miss State for example and we are in the conversation. So yeah I'm with the OP let's hope for a West sweep.

I don't think UGA loses 3 SEC games, of course anything is possible, but the only team on our schedule better than us is Bama and we could get a lucky bounce unless OM got all of them. Don't go to sleep on Vandy, they are much better than being given credit, much better defensively than USC. They were in the game until the end against OM.

True re Vandy and in the SEC if you play D you can win. Toward that end I expect SECW teams to sweep this weekend.

One hopes UK players don't go into the Vandy game thinking it's automatic because it won't be.

That game scares me to death. I hope we have 5 wins going into that game, as we have Charlotte after it (that game DOES NOT scare me at all). Best to just beat EKU, beat Auburn, and then know we have that Charlotte win in our back pocket. Dont misread me, I am extremely confident UK beats Vandy but it is still going to be a close game and scary and nervewracking most likely.

Our game depends on.the qb, if we can protect him, I think we win. Sony is money against any lb in the SEC. The one big difference in our new OC and No go is he looks to great mismatches and used formation and motion to get them. NFL background I guess because that's how the league works. 2 TE sets, Sony in a slot 2 Flanders with Chubb in the backfield is a tough formation to defend because it forces a LB to cover Sony. Bama LB a age huge but a step slow, I think we can take advantage of that. If we had a mobile qb I think we win by 10 plus, but we don't.

I think Georgia wins this game. In all honesty, Georgia and Ole Miss look like the two best teams in the SEC this year, then LSU. I tend to think the East will go 2-1 v. the West this week, but who knows? Obviously you can never count Alabama out. Arkansas has looked bad, but not as bad as their record suggests (when taking out the Toledo loss), Florida's defense is going to keep them in every game, but Ole Miss looks like the most complete team in the SEC.

All good points and I don't doubt they're true. I just feel the SECW teams are a notch better overall on D and that's what will carry them this weekend.

However, if Ga does handle Bama's D when does Kirby Smart start feeling the heat? His D has been smoked at times the past few years.

Vandy is really starting to worry me, we should win but not even close to the gimme a lot of our fans were expecting. And I am not sure why everyone thinks Bama is done when they lost to a team now considered to be a playoff team------with the help of a lot of turnovers, mistakes, and one truly freakish play that made the difference in the game. Treadwell for Ole Miss AND the DL/RB that is a freak of nature are both unbelievable talents though, with a lot of support. Great examples of what UK has been missing this century, although it seems now we have a few four stars that can elevate their play to that level. Towles and a few others were close to that Saturday., and we need Boom to come back to the level he is capable of playing at.

If Georgia beats Bama it will be because they also have awesome talent, not because Bama is that bad.

See I have never believed the west was all that much stronger than the east. I would argue the biggest pic win last year was our win over Clemson. West split with a very average Wisconsin team and lucky not go 0 for 2, Bama beat a big 12 also ran and OM best a Noise team with a new coach. All their big wins were against each other, then embarassed in the bowls. Sure could have been disinterested, but could have been just as easy they were overmatched. Top 5 teams lost, all disinterested?

To win Sat, we can't make mistakes, but if Bama gives us 5 turnovers to none like they did OM, we win big, but I don't think that happens. We can get blown out and an odd day for the an will get us one. I know he can't keep it up, but he is 40 out of 44, 6 tds and 0 INTs our last 2 and half game, that will win a lot of games when running the ball is your strength.
