So since 2016, we've never done worse than 2-5 in conference...we went 4-6 in 2020 but that was an ALL-SEC schedule. I wanted to see where we stack up with the rest of the league. I'm looking at 3 things...
-Overall SEC Record
-Seasons .500 or better
-Seasons with a 2-6 record or worse (2020 does not count)
-10 Win Seasons
-This is 8 seasons I'm looking at...

Rankings:
#1 Alabama: 60-6 Record (90.91%), 8 seasons .500 or better, 0 seasons at 2-6 or worse, 8 10-win seasons
#2 Georgia: 56-9 Record (86.15%), 8 seasons .500 or better, 0 seasons at 2-6 or worse, 6 10-win seasons
#3 LSU: 44-22 Record (66.67%), 7 seasons .500 or better, 0 seasons at 2-6 or worse, 3 10-win seasons (a bowl still to play)
#4 Florida: 36-30 Record (54.55%), 4 seasons .500 or better, 1 season at 2-6 or worse, 2 10-win seasons
#5 Texas A&M: 35-30 Record (53.85%), 7 seasons .500 or better, 1 seasons at 2-6 or worse, 0 10-win seasons (9-1 in 2020)
#6 Auburn: 34-32 Record (51.52%), 4 seasons .500 or better, 1 seasons at 2-6 or worse, 1 10-win seasons
#7 Kentucky: 31-35 Record (46.97%), 4 seasons .500 or better, 0 seasons at 2-6 or worse, 2 10-win seasons
#8 Missouri: 30-36 Record (45.45%), 4 seasons .500 or better, 1 season at 2-6 or worse, 1 10-win seasons
#9 Ole Miss: 28-37 Record (43.08%), 3 seasons .500 or better, 3 seasons at 2-6 or worse, 2 10-win seasons
#10 Tennessee: 28-38 Record (42.42%), 4 seasons .500 or better, 2 seasons at 2-6 or worse, 1 10-win seasons
#11 S. Carolina: 27-39 Record (40.91%), 3 seasons .500 or better, 0 season at 2-6 or worse, 0 10-win seasons
#12 Miss State: 26-40 Record (39.39%), 4 seasons .500 or better, 1 season at 2-6 or worse, 0 10-win seasons
#13 Arkansas: 15-51 Record (22.73%), 1 seasons .500 or better, 4 seasons at 2-6 or worse, 0 10-win seasons
#14 Vanderbilt is just awful.

NOTES:
-Record wise...we are a top half of the league
-If we don't score in 2018 against Mizzou at the end, they have the same record, we have 1 less 10 win season...meaning Mizzou hasn't been far off of us this whole time.
-We are 1 of 6 SEC Teams with Multiple 10 win seasons during that time
-We are 1 of 6 SEC Teams with 0 seasons with a 2-6 record or less
-We are 1 of 4 SEC Teams with multiple 10 win seasons and 0 seasons with a 2-6 record or worse (Bama, UGA, LSU, UK)
-Only 3 teams have better than a 55% SEC winning %, the 3 that have won the title
-Only 4 programs have had more seasons with a .500 record or better (A&M, Bama, LSU, UGA)

I know I know...it's no excuse for the last 2 years and you don't care about other teams or factual information. But it's amazing to think where we were in the SEC just a decade ago....and how many would think back to back 7-5 win seasons would be a failure whereas we viewed 2006-2007 with the same records as high points before he arrived.

During the Stoops run...only 3 programs...the 3 most elite programs....have had clearly better resumes than ours. We've had similar highs to others since 2016...but we haven't had any lows. People want to say "well uh it caint get NE worse!" but it's kind of crazy to realize that we've been very consistent over the last 8 years. We haven't bottomed out. We've made bowls every years. We've had 2 10-win seasons. Now yes...I want a NY6 appearance...but I wasn't even thinking it until Stoops arrived.

The detractors will never give any credit. They'll move goalposts. They'll claim some guy that does well at Troy could do better. They'll claim that other program are so far ahead....but realize that it's the freaking SEC. There are ups and downs. Everyone has talent (other than Vandy). People just think we should have standards of Auburn and treat it the same...and act like what Stoops is doing is easy. But again...who would've ever thought we'd have numbers among the top half of the SEC where only the National Powers are clearly ahead of us? No one here ever thought that....

Show those numbers to anyone in 2012 and they'd tell you to build a statue. I appreciate Stoops. He's not perfect. He's not a HOF level great like Calipari is in his sport. But the job he's doing at Kentucky is amazing...maybe it falls off and he's done as much as he'll ever do? But I trust this guy to keep it going and keep building it up.
