I just watched this video ranking the SEC coaches. The two guys discussing this had some disagreements, but I thought it was interesting. They said that 11-15 could be replaced after 2025.

16 Jeff Lebby
15 Hugh Freeze
14 Mark Stoops
13 Sam Pittman
12 Brett Venables
11 Billy Napier
10 Clark Lee
9 Brian Kelly
8 Ely Drinkawits
7 Mike Elko
6 Kalen DeBoer
5 Lane Kiffin
4 Shane Beamer
3 Josh Heuepel
2 Steve Sarkisian
1 Kirby Smart

Never heard of either one of them, but to have shane Beamer ranked ahead of 3 coaches that bwat the gamecocks last season the last loses any credibility to me. If he had gotten lucky with a qb he was 5-7 or worse in 24.

Wow. Two or three years ago Stoops most likely would've been top 5 or 6. Now he's 14? Not buying that. Not a Stoops homer and fervently believe that he's got one, maybe two years to right the ship, but he's forgotten how to coach? Beamer > Kiffin and even Brian Kelly? This ranking is pretty bad, imo.

They got some of it right and some of their ranking is way off. I mainly watched it to see what the outside perception of Stoops was. They have Beamer way to high. He has only had a couple of good years. While Brian Kelly has not met expectations at LSU, they have him ranked too low. It his somewhat difficult to do this kind of ranking. There is the what have you done overall vs what have you done lately factor and many other factors, such as new hires. We don't really know how Elco and Deboer will do in the SEC. If Napier has the kind of year I think he will have, he will shoot way up the list, and most people thought he would be fired last year. The perception of a coach can change overnight. I had never heard of the IU coach, until last year. I mainly posted this, because I thought it would be interesting to discuss.

This was not based on one season. If it was, Stoops would have been LAST.

Then are they basing it off his 20-18 overall record? Or maybe it's his 10-14 record the previous 3 years. He still has a a losing zSe record with last season included. He lucked into the most dangerous QB in the conference. Yet he redshirted him as a true frosh.

Seems to be very prisoner of the moment.

But that’s what any kind of rankings are. Team, coach, etc…who’s hot right now?

Last year Drink got a bunch of flowers. Deservedly so.

This year Beamer surprised most everyone.

If Lagway pops off next season then a lot of folks will start howling about Napier.
