Sea of blue article on caleb wilson just 3 hrs ago

As long as Caleb is willing to wait until season-end to get paid. I'm not at all comfortable with recruits hanging around, enjoying getting paid and one foot out the door.

Yeah, the thing that I hate that ultimately drives up NIL is the reporting about the fact that KY’s offer was the best by quite a large margin. I know agents are going to tell other schools, but we don’t need anymore advertisement than absolutely necessary.

You realize that it was ONE player that I didn't know his status on, right? Now back to ignore you go, if you can't be a little more civil than that.
To your point, it is a little sad that we have to think about agents and paid mercenaries in what used to be amateur sports. Is what it is though. Always support my Cats

It is not "what it is". Your point is very valid, and it's a significant one. If collegiate sports don't fix this fast and send those clowns packing, it's going to destroy this. SOMEBODY needs to stand up and say "if you're not here to get an education, move along".

I admire the idealist in you. I’m one as well. I just don’t see that happening in this one

lol, man. That's not gonna happen. The NCAA had a chance to fix this decades ago when players just wanted to be able to sell merchandise with their names and/or signature and just get a partial cut. If the NCAA had smartly said, "You know what, that's fair." we wouldn't be in the boat. As it stands NIL is law and that's not getting repealed easily.

The genie is out. He needs some wrist cuffs put on him to restrict his power, but he's not going back in the lamp.

Sweety, I'm female but a sports nut. I'd like to think that had this been addressed years ago that *somehow* at this point the NIL contracts would be nowhere near as egragious as they are, but you know .... progress.

That wasn't intended as an insult to your gender. Man and Dude are gender-neutral terms in my vocabulary. Part of growing up in the late 80s and through the 90s.

The biggest take away I have is that we didn’t have this level of information overload on recruits and players 20 years ago. So if you don’t like to read/hear about it, just go back to that level of information exposure.

It’s not hard to not click on links or follow recruit-niks on twitter if it bothers you so much.

The players still play hard, they still care, it’s just they aren’t here very long (which was great for us this year since we reloaded in 1 month!)

What I don’t understand is why do you care where some hedge fund manager or coal barons’ money goes?

With Sharpe specifically, I dont think it would have helped the team if that money was reallocated and, in the end, maybe it hastened Calipari’s departure.

It's not about where the money "goes", it's the fact that kids sit out for every little boo boo, protect their draft stock. Aren't you a Cal supporter? I never really see you comment on anything unless it's to defend stuff like this. You clearly are defending Sharpe.

And, no, they don't play hard. What do you think they were doing in New York?

Looking good go cats
This article was written to string us along. It's meant to convince us that we have this huge war chest to buy players just like our rivals. But it's not true. Just look at what our huge war chest was able to provide as a roster for our first year coach. It doesn't take a lot to see past the lies to the truth. The evidence is plentiful—most of y'all are just ignoring it. If we pay going rate for a huge superstar, we're going to have less left over to surround him with equally capable players. And we're going to have less money to keep him around in a few years if he actually develops in Pope's system. I'm not at all happy about this. This is our worst nightmare. But I'm also not going to continue to buy in and pretend like it's not our new reality.

I sure don't call nil progress.......it's more like regress
Oh, I totally agree. What I was getting at is that it's just lawsuits everywhere and those at the top of the food chain in collegiat sports (including the NCAA) have some really weird priorities regarding the game and its fans.

Is there a source you’ve obtained this from or are you just making inference based on an absence of information?

Don’t be like HH. He’s a total fraud and troll. Say the least little thing he doesn’t like and he puts you on ignore and brags about it. You’re better than that. I hope.

I'm a pretty forgiving person. But I have my limits with people who are nasty toward others, who belittle others, that kind of thing.

I haven’t been around enough to know for sure but that account only posts negativity, think a possible troll but idk y’all been around for awhile . Talking Butters Dad
He kinda is. My expectations have been lowered quite a bit with this team, but I'm not giving up on them. We've got to get back to our motion offense and at least learn how to guard a traffic cone.

He shouldn't have to wait until the end of season to get paid his NIL. He's more deserving than most if he is as good as most project. He's the type of player UK needs to have every season to make final fours and win additional national titles. You aren't winning anything without guys that are 1st round, if not lotto, nba draft picks.

Not my money so I really couldn't care less how much or when these players get their NIL.

Absence of information? You're basically telling me there's actually no way to know what I actually understand that I know. There's an abundance of information, buddy. You're just blinded to it by your bias. You have no perspective.

Shaddup. You aren’t a UK fan and you are trolling. You’re also really bad at it. Of course Kentucky basketball has money. It’s Kentucky.

You can be a fool. I'm not trying to reach fools. I never claimed to be a CURRENT UK fan. I gave up my fandom and I can't even muster the strength to root hard for the current team. It really doesn't make any difference to me whether we win or lose. It's all about the wrong things now and we're being strung along by the powers that be that everything is the same and Calipari left because he was about to be fired—or whatever you tell yourself—and not because he could afford a better roster at Arkansas.

Enlighten us then with your sources of information.
It's not my fault you can't add two and two. Exhibit A: our current roster. And y'all are way too optimistic about what we're bringing in. They will be young and error prone as all are. And if they actually develop they will leave. That's going to be a recurring problem. You see it at lots of other schools in a similar position to ours. Y'all think we have way deeper pockets than anyone willing to pay for players to go to Kentucky actually has.

So, again. Source: Trust Me Bro

Yawn.
