Scott Drew

Any Coach KY is looking at will have a massive buyout. We aren’t going after a mid major Coach so let’s not worry about buyouts because if they want them the buyout is the least of there worry’s

Scott Drew should be on the list. He's the guy you call if the following say NO...

Dan Hurely
Jay Wright
Billy Donovan
Bruce Pearl

Drew does not yell Run!! and Go!! Like COW - Srike 1
He also does not wave his arms frantically as if having a seizure like our COW - Strike 2
To my knowledge, he does not instruct his players to go make a play - Strike3

We have the best coach at the helm - just go ask him

Maybe in the beginning but he just did an interview a day or so ago and said there’s no way Scott Drew has the rock star personality it takes to coach at UK.
Scott Drew wouldn't come here and wouldn't fit in at all. He's more worried about preaching than he is coaching basketball.

While I’m not sure we can get donors on board for a buy out of Cal, I do believe we could get donors on board to help with the buyout for a top flight coach that they were excited about.
I don’t know that Lloyd would be on any donor wish list

I don't get the "Drew lost his 2nd round game while coaching Baylor, so he's terrible" take.

He's coaching at Baylor. We should expect that any coach does better with the advantages a blue blood program offers.

John Calipari is at one of the greatest college basketball programs of all time. Scott Drew is at "not really a basketball school U." Drew still went further than Cal, despite the advantages afforded to Cal.

In the last 4 years, Drew has 1 national championship. Cal has the same number of tournament wins. He also has the same number of missed tournaments.

And again, Drew is at Baylor. He'll do even better at Kentucky.

Do we not reach out to UK alumnus Frank Vogel?
I don't believe most NBA coaches want to leave for college. He's got Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Kevin Durant. I doubt he's going to give that up for NIL and transfer portal.

Maybe we call him. But I Think that'll be a quick no.

Please, don't bring Jay Wright. Don't bring him out of retirement just for money. Need a young, hungry, "fire in the belly" coach.

Last 10 seasons - 1 conference title, advanced past first weekend twice.

And somehow many here think he would be a home run hire. Complete nonsense.

He would be a terrible hire and UK fans would hate his sourpuss ass attitude.
And great coaches don’t have two great players transfer in different years. LJ Cryer and Matthew Mayer.

Because it's a trend. He's had more first weekend upsets then he does Final Fours.

Not according to many on here. Some are still hollering for 65 year old Bruce Pearl who also loses in the first round.

So Oats, Musselman, Holtman, Pearl, and Drew are off the board. Who’s realistically next?

This board is like a blizzard at DQ, there’s always a flavor of the month.

Who would you suggest? Feasible options I mean.

Some of you guys will have the next coach dead in the water before he ever coaches a game. Here's what I know. The chances of getting this fanbase to agree on a replacement are very slim. Somebody won't be happy. Some of you will likely be going from one guy you hate to another one you hate. I'm not sure about Scott Drew. I could name a few others I'd prefer, but I don't always get what I want. 👍

To me every new hire deserves atleast 3 years to prove themselves at a new job unless you’re as bad as Kenny Payne was. The new coach if Kentucky does end up going that route would deserve 3 years to get everything set up and rolling

Again, I really need you to get this:

He is at Baylor. You can't expect Kentucky results at Baylor. You shouldn't be expected to go to 5 or 6 final 4's at Baylor. Winning 1 championship at Baylor is an amazing feat.

If you think we're going to get a coach with multiple final 4's and few/no 1st round exits--I've got bad news my guy.

Donovan, Wright, Stevens, Hurley aint coming.

Oats: No final 4's
Muss: No Final 4's
Beard: 1 Final 4, no 1st round exits--but he HAS missed the tournament multiple times.
Will Wade: No final 4's.
Pearl: 1 Final 4, multiple 1st round exits
Lloyd: No final 4's, 1 first round exit.

If your criteria is: Already has a hall of fame resume, we're not getting anyone.
