SCAR vs UNC

I'm confident we can win against USC but they are gonna be up for it since we got them last year.

And before I'm talking smack I wanna watch us in action first.

Both these teams are more talented than UK across the board on both sides of the ball, especially defense. Not saying we cant beat south carolina, but it will be a tall task.

I'll respectfully disagree with you here. UK has more talent across the offensive skill positions than South Carolina and is likely just as talented as North Carolina across the board defensively. Whether that translates into a win at SC is another matter entirely, but I certainly hope so.

those 2 teams are not more talented than UK by much going on the rankings and it seems that scar has had a lot of non qualifiers the last few years which had them getting 6 or 7 jucos this year to fill immediate needs.... if you are recruiting as good as scar is sposed to be then you don't go get 7 jucos. it appearing that as spurrier gets older the players develop slower.

unc has had 1 class ranked ahead of ours the last 4 years. they definitely have talent and athletes but its yet to be seen how good a football team they actually have. they do have some players i'd love to have, couple o-line guys looked good, rb is real good, d-line guy looked really active, i'd like to have one of their lb's and i'd like to have one of their corners but honestly i like the the rest of team better.

Do you need me to call you to confirm it ....

I like your excitement, but you do not know much about SEC football.

And to the other poster whining because some of us would be happy with a 1 point win at SC...yeah a win is a win bud, especially a SEC Road win. The mere fact that we think we can win at SC having not won a road game in 6 years is pretty positive for those of us predicting it to happen.

I expect the Cats to play South Carolina tough on the road.

I believe the Gamecocks win by something like 34-24, but UK will have a lot of positives to take away from the game.
How in the hell-o is SC going to score 34 on us, our D is much better than NC as well as our O. We win 24-20

I wouldn't read to much into a teams performance in the first game of the year. I also don't know how you could say either of these teams are better or worse than our team since we haven't even played a down yet.

I seem to remember SC looking awful against A&M then turning around and beating Georgia the next week last year. So SC can definitely improve by the time they play us.

It is a very tough place to play. And. They will be pumped. Not to mention they appear to have a good defense.

Watching that left me optimistic. I think that's saying enough for now. I certainly agree with those challenging the notion that we suffer a significant, if any, talent deficit v. USCe. I am very eager to see how much the total package has improved in one year. I think a lot of people are blind to how much a more consistent offensive performance might benefit our defensive efforts, i.e. winning the TOP and field position battle, even if not scoring, limiting opponents offensive play counts, and putting us in the position of playing with a lead more often. I am VERY excited about the young man handling the placekicking duties for the next THREE YEARS. He is going to be a BIG difference maker.
