SCAR vs UNC

Well the Heels really let this one get away. Not gonna disrespect USC but from I've seen we should be able to compete against them.

I don't get the call by SC on that 4th and short. Why do teams pussy foot around with this shotgun spread crap on 4th and inches? Whatever happened to running the ball right up the gut or even a QB sneak? I know UNC failed at the latter earlier in the game, but SC was pounding UNC's D on that possession. I digress. It looks like SC will hang on to win this one, but next week's game is definitely winnable.

34 for UNC is a beast..but Horrible play calling by them coupled with atrocious QB play doomed them.. And there is no way this UNC team is better than us

South Carolina with a big INT in the endzone. Both teams look a little rusty.

I don't think USC looked especially good tonight, but they looked much better than last year's opener and they still beat us. UNC had a good offense last year, returned 9 starters and USC kept them out of the endzone except for one trip down. They were getting a good pass rush and didn't miss opportunities to get turnovers when they came. One thing thats a pretty big deal in USC's favor and no one has mentioned it that I have seen, is they get 2 extra days of preparation. Its someone SOS does every year, get a Thursday night game for the opener and it gives you a 2 day advantage over your next opponent. It think it will be a tough close game whichever way it goes.

Good road win for USC. UNC has been dubbed by some as a potential threat in the ACC.

IT was not a road win, it was a neutral site game.

And thanks Jason, that explains it more. This is what I get for trying to watch 3 college football games at once....still not sure how I missed that key a play. I was also watching my awful Titans a little...Mariota finally threw a TD, albeit probably against the Vikings waterboys.

I expect the Cats to win the USCjr game going away. 38-17 Kentucky Cruises in that one.

So a team that has not won a SEC road game since 2009 is going to win by 21 in Columbia? Geez, and to think I'd be happy with a 1 point win guys. I need to raise my expectations.

It's incredible that a school with the success such as USCjr and a coach like Spurrier can't ever find a QB. If UK can hang in the trenches and not give the Gamecocks opportunities to make big defensive plays, UK can win. I mean, two red zone interceptions that resulted in 0 points gave them this game. UNC ran all over them.

SC has two playmakers on offense, Cooper and Carson. They don't scare me offensively.

UNC had almost 500 yards total offense and still lost, South Carolina is at home against us and has an extra 2 days to rest and prepare against us.
Unc threw 2 interceptions inside the redzone. If those were touchdowns Unc wins by double figures. Also those 2 days are a joke. We have a different offensive coordinator this year, we won't do the same thing we did last year.

Both these teams are more talented than UK across the board on both sides of the ball, especially defense. Not saying we cant beat south carolina, but it will be a tall task.
Do you believe that either team has a quarterback as talented as Patrick Towles? I can sort of give Mitch a pass because it was his first start (and he wasn't totally terrible anyway) but the UNC senior qb was terrible.

Did not realize this was a neutral site game. That fact does not impact the W.

Well, we got what quite a few people on this board wanted: a close, ugly SC win. I like our chances on the 12th.

I expect the Cats to play South Carolina tough on the road.

I believe the Gamecocks win by something like 34-24, but UK will have a lot of positives to take away from the game.

At this stage, a win is all that matters. Against other middle of the pack, 4+ loss SEC teams (notably, Florida and South Carolina), there are no moral victories.

UGA, UT and Missouri, okay, but not the others.

Forgot to mention this; if North Carolina is more talented than us on both sides of the field, then I can only assume that they must have really increased their level of defensive talent from 2014 to 2015. Last year, they gave 39 points a game, an astonishing number. And that was not against a NFL schedule; no, it was against an ACC schedule- and in the weaker division of the ACC, at that.

I pray that our team has more confidence in their abilities than many of you on here. My God! Lucky to get a one point win? No chance on the road? Did we not beat this team last year running the same play over and over? Have we not upgraded talent and experience? Is this Steve Spurrier from 5-10 years ago?

Go crawl in a hole and cry you bunch of pansies! This is not your Pappy's UK Football team of old. Grow some balls and CLAIM VICTORY dang it!!!!

If this same USCjr team shows up next week, then we will roll them. They looked horrible.

UK always plays USC tough, even during down years. Will happen again this season. Its a game UK should win. But it certainly wont be easy.

Anybody who has half a clue about football knows UK will destroy usc after watching them tonight. What a joke of a program they are. Real SEC teams destroy acc teams, not win by 4 points.

How many points did we give up last year? How many true freshman are in the two deep in our defense this year? To think we will have a great defense is a pipe dream. Maybe by some miracle we do, but I don't see it, not enough depth at key positions.

31.3.. almost 8 ppg better than UNC

5 RS fr and 4 True FR numbers are inflated due to suspension.. also two true freshman crack the two deep because they surpassed upperclassmen during camp.. but i guess thats a negative.. we'd be better off with less talented SRs in the game :)

and to think our defense wont be improved from last is just as crazy.. if not more so.. than thinking we will have a great defense.. but, most importantly, we do not need a great defense to stop USCjr
