SATURDAY games thread

We had several veterans that had a pretty big part on those teams. Our Freshman the last 3 or 4 years he was here didn’t do much in the tournament. Knox, Richmond and Fland have looked pretty good in this tournament so far.

Ok then be specific and just say you meant the last 4 seasons. No arguments there.

I feel pretty confident now, that a lot of Cals problem during his final years at UK, was that he was just being too stubborn in the end. Too much fighting with media and fans. He needed a change.

I'm not saying he and Arkansas look great or anything.. but it sure looks better than anything he showed us in the last 5 years.
After he left I said we could see a less successful Andy Reid to the Chiefs situation with him. He never forgot how to coach. He just got lazy and wore out his welcome being at the same place for so long. It is what it is and happens all over sports with both coaches and players.

This Arkansas team struggled with a lot of injuries in the first half of the season, and it did take Cal a while to figure his team out, but he has them looking really good right now and this is still without Thiero.

St. John’s didn’t beat a team in Kenpom top
20 all year. UGA beat them. I have a ton of money on Ark today. Theiro coming back next week, too. They legit could be headed to final 4

If you’re an Arkansas fan, it’s a good thing you have this 12 point cushion. Z, Aidoo and Brazille will all foul out. Is 11 minutes enough for that to happen and St John’s to claim a lead?

Can someone explain how the #1 defense in the country can't defend a straight line drive to the basket? They can't stay in front of like 3 of Arkansas's guys.

Yep, I also think there was a lot of resentment growing on with sides. I think Cal began to hate a portion of the fanbase, and I swear.. it almost felt like he didn't care to lose these last few years. Almost like there was a silver lining to it, where he could thumb his nose to the fanbase. Felt like a bad relationship that was nearing the breakup phase. Things were getting petty. Lot of passive aggressiveness on both sides.

And so it sort of sucks to see this, him on the verge of a Sweet 16.. because it makes you think "what could have been". That was actually my big worry when we got rid of him, was that he was going to sort of be revitalized. That is wasn't that the game passed him by, he just hated his final years at UK and a new job/program would be what gets him going again.
