Running game not 100% the Oline fault

A lot of the TFL's, ankle tackles, and the one hit and down tackles for little to no gain will be negated when CRod runs. he rarely has negative yardage plays and always plows forward. CRod will run through or over some of the tackles that brought our other backs down. That's why He is a 1000 yard rusher and not the others.
It’s actually quite shocking how easily our other backs go down . We could be playing 2 hand touch and their stats wouldn’t look much different. Just being able to pick up the “tough yards” will help immensely.

SEC backs are supposed to be able able to make one guy miss .
1000% correct.

Being a ball carrier for an SEC top 25 program means you had better have the ability to make an SEC linebacker or safety miss once you go through the hole.

We haven't had that for 4 games - 3 against bon SEC defenders. Yet this site has hundreds of posts blaming it entirely on the O linemen & their position coach.

People will be amazed at how much better apparently our O line blocks when CRod is the guy getting the ball Saturday.

CRod will turn those runs that result in 2nd & 9's or 3rd &8's into 2nd & 3's or 4's and 3rd and 1's. Much more manageable downs that open up the playbook more and make us less predictable. That's the goal of getting CRod back.

Correct. Crod rarely breaks monster runs yet averages 6.6 yards per carry. What he does is constantly keep us ahead of the chains and moves the sticks. He's does that with great vision (essential to a zone scheme) and ability to run through tackles/fall forward.

Has smoke or wright broken one tackle all season? Have they made one guy miss? I can't think of any. If they have, it's been one or two max.

I’ve honestly been a little disappointed in Wright . I knew what we had in Smoke (a serviceable running back) but I though/was hoping that Wright would have a little more “wiggle “ .

I don’t buy it. I’ve never heard fans say a RB isn’t that good like we hammer on Qb, Wr, Oline, etc. But Smoke McClain, Wright all had a chance to show something and failed pretty hard. I’ll give Jefferson a pass …he played one play.

We made it thru Crod suspension…so know we can limit the Rb weakness. But we for damn sure need to hit the portal hard for a Rb next year. And no more small ish guys….get some pounders and be done with it
You don't buy what? I did not offer an opinion. The facts I cited are verifiable and widely known.

Running backs due back in 2023 are McClain, Wright, Drennen, Moorman, and Keith. The coaches are still recruiting Jamarion Wilcox. Who knows how that will end up? I gather Jefferson can come back if he is healthy and chooses to go for it. That is a full room. If they get Wilcox, he looks like a feature back to me. Potential star. Have you looked at Keith's film? They can turn to the portal, but I do not see that happening unless they miss on Wilcox. Our coaches have been right so far. You might need to cheer up and find something to be happy about.
