For those who are more knowledgeable about blocking schemes, did we run more outside zone in the 2nd half, more inside zone or was it just a matter of the OL playing better and Florida's DL getting tired?

TIA

UK ran more balanced sets and ran power at the right side a good bit. Manning looked really good. That’s what it looked like to me. It also didn’t hurt that Florida has depth issues on their front seven and UK took advantage of it.

Yeah...Manning and Flax are pretty solid run blockers. I think we ran right behind them a ton is what I'd guess

He's not boom Williams, but Smoke can get around the edge. Letting him go outside was good run. Plus turnovers and warm night with a thin defense.

Not sure we are over the hump just yet. Hope that next two games give line more time to be ok.

They also lead him with a FB and TE on some of those runs to the wing later in the game.

Florida’s D line depth coming in was suspect. It told on them in the 4th quarter.

I believe this is the correct answer and a similar dynamic played out in Florida’s game against Utah.

In the first half, Florida held Utah to 59 yards rushing and 129 yards of total offense. In the second half, Utah had 171 yards rushing and 317 yards of total offense.

I’m sure our O-line played a bit better in the second half (don’t recall any major blown assignments like we saw in the first), but I also think Florida’s depth issues on the D-line were probably more of a factor as to why we ran the ball so much better in the second half.

Regardless, I’m glad we have a couple of easier games for guys to get healthy and for the O-line to continue to develop. I’m hoping we see a CRod who is champing at the bit during the Ole Miss game and that the O-line is playing well enough to take advantage of that.

The staff made adjustments to the Gators putting 7 or 8 in the box from the first half. Stoops mentioned it in The Postgame Presser. The Tackles were letting the Ends go in the first half but the TE ‘s couldn’t get to them coming in motion, so they made an adjustment and kicked out the ends with the Tackles and let the FB and TE’s in motion pick up the LB’s. It opened up the off tackle runs.

UK also went to one WR sets and brought in multiple TE’s. Also why Key didn’t get in
alot in the second half.

this is pretty spot on! If you watched the Utah game, Utah ran on them at will late in the game. They don't have much depth on their defensive line. Those guys (Cox, Dexter and the big guy in the middle #21 whose name escapes me) are big time talents, but after that it's questionable and those guys have to play a lot of snaps. Credit to our guys for sticking to the plan, staying the course, and being patient to allow the game plan to develop in letting what I think will be a very talented, albeit not very deep defensive front ware itself out.
