Ole Roy commented on UM president calling for UNC to get the "death penalty" by saying it was silly. Roy said he was a "double idiot" for commenting without knowledge. Scrolling at the bottom of ESPN today.

At least there's a mention of it on the scroll. More than I expect honestly.

So this is what it's come to: A university president that brings much-needed attention to a systematic long-term fraud perpetrated by a public university is "checked" by that daggum barely literate four-flushing phony who has benefited -- and continues to benefit -- professionally and materially from that fraud, and the phony laughingly skates away with his gaudy rings, millions in the bank, and endless supply of co-colers.

The NCAA needs to be obliterated post haste.

Only when you feel THAT protected by the NCAA and sports media are you able to be THAT arrogant. No fear, no self-awareness, no problem.

Roy values his integrity and reputation - all the while not realizing his reputation is arrogant entitled trash. Aw Shucks!

Oh how I wish just one person would have a come to Jesus moment and come completely clean on this corruption.

Williams said yes, and added "there has been a lot of junk and people have questioned my integrity."

Then he moved on to Loh,...

"And then we have a president that says we should get the death penalty," Williams says in the clip below. "A president of another university. I mean, to me, that's just so silly. A guy told me one time, 'You can get a little knowledge and it turns you into an idiot, but no knowledge, you're a double idiot.' And that's about the way I look at that thing."

1. Unreal... Bless his integrity! No Sh@t people question your integrity - more your lack of any and how you've gotten away with it. A lot of "junk' lol - no FRAUD.
2. A basketball coach from a school that practices decades of academic fraud has the nerve to call a university president (who would run rings around him with knowledge of academic requirements) a double idiot - Oh the irony...

All their fans and defenders have reverted to this same line that people "don't know the facts". What exactly they mean by this is hard to say, but hopefully they have to eat those words at some point.

We need far more guys like the University of Maryland President - THAT is the only way this gets some traction and UNCheat really pays the price imo. NCAA schools that are vested in this overall NCAA life need to raise hell - blackball UNCheat - refuse to play them in anything, refuse to have any academic relationship with them, continue to call them out publically. It is going to take NCAA institutions to bring their combined influence. So - Kudos to this guy who had the balls to do it - who is next? All it will take is a few more big boys and the pile on will ensue. PLEASE let this happen.

Lol - you are right. They mean - only UNCheat fans can understand this and ALL UNCheat fans have all the real facts that matter - the rest of the public just couldn't understand the nuanced "facts" in this case.

Never forget John Edwards is a UNCheat law alum - A guy who, while running for president, denied until a tabloid got pics of him with his "love" child and baby momma. Indicted for misuse of campaign funds... mistrials... hmmm. That is NOT a political statement - it's an integrity statement - He is a prime example of what UNCheat produces, promotes and probably is helping them with this case. Zero integrity from top to bottom.

Sorry for the rant BBN - this one subject is like a John Higgins butt rash with Krychefski hemorrhoids dipped in scalding U of L corruption alcohol. It is a pain in my azz and stays with you for a long time.

Roy lost all credibility with this statement.

Every moron knows that if you play "double idiots" then they cancel each other out, making a "smarty pants". Simple math.

He'd in truth been better off just to pass on the question - but in classic arrogance - he couldn't. He "won" the title - he's gotten away with institutionalized systemic fraud - and he is feeling good about himself. Pride cometh before....

Too bad our AD and Prez are such milquetoast pussies.

Lol this is great. I hope he pisses Maryland's president off and ups the ante
How would it not piss him off, along with any friends he might have at other universities. We need to get Roy to talk more, buy him a six pack of Co colars and a box of moon pies. Ol' Roy can explain this so even a "double idiot" can understand it.

I wish Jerry Clower was still around,Marcel, Claude Newgene and Clovis could get to the bottom of this while the NCAA is still shucking corn.

I'm still waiting for one National reporter with the cojones to question Roy Williams's to why he accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in bonus money for his teams "academic success" and then later claims he has no idea what classes his players take or what work (if any) is involved.

He's either a huge hypocrite, a huge liar or both. Either way no one at the NCAA and no reporter has seriously questioned Williams over this or other issues related to this fraud.

Without knowledge? Give it up up Roy Boy. EVERYBODY knows about ALL of it. NC deserves to lose TWO titles and a ton of games won. Tell us about it Roy Boy. Tell us who is lying or what we don't know. Your credibility is taking a big hit because EVERYBODY knows. Only way out of this is to show them some money. If they don't take you are dead. Just too many people know you work for a cheating school.

I think it's hilarious. The guy at Maryland is a clown for saying that. You think he's going to shut down his basketball team if they get caught cheating like UNC did? Hell no. By the way, where's the brave young soul that should have asked him about letting Sulaimon onto his campus...ya know, after sexually assaulting two women at dook?

There's a reason why no coach spills the beans on any other coach. This clown should be schooled on that.

Didn't Roy once compare a loss to a natural disaster? He's just not very smart.

Except UNC absolutely cheated 100% for YEARS. There not hypotheticals here, no ifs or buts about it. They cheated and should be punished. They have made a complete mockery of the NCAAs student athlete song and dance. If they are given free reign to do this every single athletic program in D1 should do the same use the UNC model and dare them to say a word...

That's not what I'm arguing. Sure they cheated, and they should have to face that. However, you never want to come out that strongly against another school...who knows what could be right around the corner for your team? That's why coaches never talk about other coaches and how they run their programs or what they should do, and so on. You only paint yourself into a corner by doing this.

Not to mention, his comments have close to zero effect on how the COI will handle the case.

The UNC situation has NOTHING to do with running your program. I'm pretty sure to orchestrate decades of academic fraud the administration, coaches, and professors knew what was happening there. Marylands president can come out and say his program is not doing anything like that quite easily. UNC designed and implemented a plan to skirt the academic requirements to be an athlete at their university. They thumbed their nose at the NCAA and tarnished their reputation as a top shelf academic university. There's no erasing that, justification for it, or explaining it away. If Mitch or Eli Capilouto had an opportunity to speak on the issue I would hope they would take a similar stance (neither would have the guts to point fingers).

Ok. No need to argue over this. I just don't think it was a good move on the Maryland pres. In fact, I think it was a dumb move. Just my opinion.

What? Why?
I am interested in why as well... If he thinks his Athletic dept. is clean and he is willing to take the necessary action to clean it up, if it turns out they are dirty, he has shown more ethics and professionalism than any administrator or professor not named Jay Smith on UNC's campus.

That's my point. By throwing stones like this you are all but forcing your hand in the future. That's why it's a dumb move imo. There's no way that Sankey/COI will take anything that is said into account when they go through this case, other than what they find out through their investigations. So, the pres. is not doing anything, other than handcuffing himself for when his team is found to be on the other side of the rule-book. You never know when some kid is going to do something selfish and dumb, and you don't want others pointing back at things you said about opposing teams in the past. Like I said, these are my opinions, and they clearly differ from his...but how many other presidents, coaches, players, etc. are speaking out about this?

Just shows he has ethics unlike UNC. Your point seems to be that if he has a player that is guilty of breaking the rules his school should not be punished. For some reason I don't think that is how it is supposed to work.

Maybe UNC can just move their membership to the NBDL since they stopped educating their players about 25 years ago. They already feed and board the players just tack on $50,000 or so a year for each player's salary and you got a pro team.

How many are speaking out? NONE. That's because most of them are hatchet men unwilling to hold the establishment accountable. They're more interested in their careers, not standing up for right vs. wrong.

If his program is clean and he feels like speaking against the corruption, that's great. That's what we need. Why on earth would you have an issue with someone having the balls to say what all fans are thinking and quite frankly needs to be said?

F the NCAA. F retribution. F Roy Williams.

Wierd to see a regular guy argue against transparency and accountability for the reasons you cite.
