Rondo trending for all the wrong reasons

Rondo just thought he resembled a pile of sticks. Or maybe he thought that he was a little unusual and odd?

Dont be a judging ass, OP

Rondo has always been a knucklehead, and he will always be a knucklehead. I'm sure Kay will be on shortly to defend him, and tell us all that he is really a misunderstood genius. But my support of Rondo ended when he intentionally tanked in the Playoffs last year for the Mavs.

Not a fan of Rondo but the ref is trying to connect 1 incident with the other. While Rondo shouldn't say that to anybody, I doubt he knew the ref was gay, and I doubt he meant it at a personal insult. It's a political platform the the official and the NBA is using and they want to use Rondo as the scapegoat. Guarantee, the ref has been called that before on the court.

I'm pretty sure that Rondo has trended for many correct reasons as well. He has been playing on an All-Star level so far this year.

What I hate about the world is we have to be so politically correct. If I were gay and someone called me a homo, so what. It would be what I am.

You think "youre a f____'n f_____t" is just calling him gay, or is it intentionally trying to slur him? If a white person called him the "n" word, would he just be calling him black, or something worse?

You don't have to be polite and respectful. Nobody is making you. In the case at hand, Rondo not only called the ref names, he pursued him across the court. Try verbally abusing a co-worker and getting up in their grill. Two friends of mine (I'm embarrassed to say) did that (2 incidents several years apart) at my old place of work and lasted as employees for under half an hour before they were dismissed and escorted from the grounds by uniformed men with guns. Usually, adults don't call each other names in anger.

There's no such thing as an "alpha male" among humans, btw. (to respond to another post from upstream).

This whole thread is very strange, very queer to me. Shame on Rondo...I've heard of creative ways of trying to get away from the dumpster fire that is the Kings, but Rondo was very inventive. He was probably mad he did not get more games or get traded to a better team.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but because I'm under the exact opposite impression I'd like to know your reasoning there.

My pipsqueak dad had 6 kids. Dick Cheney -- commonly cited as an alpha -- had 2. (How far do you want to pursue this?)

The interesting question is why do you believe in such clap-trap?

Ummm, what? You don't think him stalking a referee while repeating "You're a motherfu-----ing fagg*t. … You're a f-----ing fagg*t, Billy" was meant as a personal insult? Then how do you think he did mean it?

Look, I get that he's a UK guy and all, but these stories have been persistently and incessantly following Rondo wherever he's gone ever since he was a high school kid. At some point even the truest bluest BBN apologists should be able to admit the guy plainly appears to be an asshole off the court.

I really didn't mean disrespect, I just wanted your reasoning. I didn't connect Alpha male status with fertility, so please let's pursue this further.

As for my belief, some guys are leaders and some aren't. I thought this was common knowledge.

Some people lead for awhile in some situations. I have some pics of Dad in WW2 -- he's a captain and dwarfed by his lieutenants. But he's the guy with the bars and the aviator shades. He was cool under fire and understood accounting. (Corps of Engineers) You can't really draw up a "shopping list" of attributes and predict just who those leaders will be and under what circumstances.

The term "alpha male" comes out of animal studies. Those don't really translate to real human life very well. We aren't gorillas or bonobos or chimps or orangutans We've got these unpredictable, unclassifiable brains.

from Phycology Today
When we speak of human alpha males today, it may be that we refer to the trait of social dominance: Studies have demonstrated that socially dominant men hold sway with many women, and can invoke feelings of inferiority among men. Thanks to current research, these men may also be more readily identifiable.

Not sure if this will get me banned or not but I'm not the least bit offended by Rajon's tirade other than the fact that he got ejected. However, should it be discussed whether Rajon was out of line more for the use of "MF'ing" or for his use of ?? Quite frankly, the former is much more offensive. None of "those" have come out yet that I'm aware of but that is not to say they don't exist in some vile, creepy, sinister place of the world. But just you bet, one day . . . one day.
