Romeo Langford

Good size/athleticism and is elite at scoring the ball. What do you think he's lacking that leaves you wanting more!
I don't know. I just don't see anything all that exceptional with him.

I'm sure I'm wrong considering the interest he is getting.

Actually heard for the first time yesterday someone say they thought it was between us and Kansas. I'd heard like everyone else Kentucky or duke all along with Louisville fans in dream land thinking they're gonna get him.

For those that do not get the hype with Romeo, he is a more talented Monk at this stage and would be drafted top 5 in THIS year's draft, IMO.

Ultimately, I see one of Duke and UK get Reddish and the other get Romeo.

Both are ridiculous players that are top 5 in one of the most talented HS classes I remember seeing. I think any one of Bol, Bagley, Zion, Romeo, or Reddish could be top 5 picks in this current draft if allowed. This class is that good, IMO.

All in my completely worthless opinion as always.

He's Jamal Murray, and a fool if he doesn't come here after watching Murray and Monk in back-to-back seasons. Cal obviously adores players in Langford's mold, and that's worked out well for everyone.

You are naming two Nike schools. Could happen. But he's a big Adidas future shoe deal type kid.
You think anyone cares about who paid for his hs team when he's signing a huge shoe contract after college? It's about who will pay the most

He's not a Monk or a Murray. I've watched this kid for years. He's very good but not a must have recruit. IU is in much shape then people think. Tons of pressure to go to IU. I can't see UL being a destination. I've heard Duke and UNC for a few months. Kansas is not a player. New Albany is very pro/anti UK and UL so I don't see either school landing him

If he's on the 19u team with Cal he'll be with Cal next season at UK. Can't spend that much time around Cal and not be impressed and see his sincerity and how he prepares and cares for his guys

Well, Cal has been pretty obvious about “a young man from Indiana” that he keeps telling the Trey Lyles story to, regarding Lyles coming off the bench. Cal’s mentioned this story at least twice that I can remember.

I think it’s clear that he’s referring to Romeo Langford.

Pressure to stay in-state is almost always benign and pretty futile for fans hoping that it plays a role with elite recruits in remaining in an area. Of course locals want the studs to stay home. Didn’t help Georgia with Jaylen Brown; or Indiana with Lyles; or St. Louis with Jayson Tatum; or Arkansas with Monk, etc.

Would really love to get this kid just to watch the dirty birds cry. What's everone guess on Langford
Talked to an IU fan from NA at the baseball regionals who knows the family and seems to think it's between otis and iu with iu now the leader with the coaching change and some interaction with the dad...

Indiana has made up ground but not a leader yet. Duke/UNC are often talked as leaders, Cal as U19 coach will help make up ground to those two. UofL out with questions about the program/Pitino and wanting to get somewhat away from home. I'd list as Duke, UNC. UK, IU at this point. Long way to go.

Could you put the meth down and try that one more time? In English please.

There's one word missing. Yell upstairs for your mom to come down and read it for you.
Can you explain your comment & reasoning on "New Albany is very PRO/ANTI UK and UL so I don't see EITHER school landing him" ?

Seems like a confused mess. If the city is PRO one of the schools how do you digress said school has no shot at landing him?

bonbyellis, I strongly disagree with your assessment of Romeo's talent, but you're more than entitled to your opinion.

I disagree. He is the real deal. Will be as good or even slightly better by the time his FR year comes around than Monk or Murray.

As someone who works on Vincennes St in New Albany, has seen him play over 20 times, and know plenty of people involved in New Albany sports, I haven't once heard UNC mentioned seriously. IU will be on his final list, but he has no desire to go there with the team they will be putting on the floor. I feel the same with UL. UL & IU are going to be DOWN this year. IU more so, but IU will be lucky to go 500 & UL will be lucky to sneak into the tournament.

Romeo wants to win as he has repeatedly shown at New Albany and his efforts in the S16 to win titles in HS. IU and UL do not give him that opportunity.

It will come down to UK and Duke for Romeo. One will get Reddish and the other Langford. No chance that they play together, in my opinion. UK has a lot to offer when it comes to minutes and has shown excellent success in Murray, Monk, and Fox at bringing in OAD players, turning them into stars, and getting them drafted higher than was expected. Just look at Fox and Monk rise in all the mock drafts.

IU and UL have shown nothing of the sort and give him no chance of winning the tournament his one year in college. That's why he ends up elsewhere despite what he says to appease both fan bases.

Romeo to UK and Reddish to Duke would be my guess right now, but that could change. I'd be fine with getting either one, though.

I'm not saying I'm super connected to Romeo are talk to him frequently, I'm just pointing out the facts as I see them and UK/Duke offer Romeo what he's looking for in his one year in college. IU & UL don't. He will continue to appease both fan bases, but end up in Lexington or Duke when it is all said and done. Choosing IU or UL will cost him millions in draft position and give him no chance at coming out of college on top. For a kid that is a winner through and through, they don't offer him the opportunity he wants in his OAD year.

After seeing what those 4 teams do on the court this year, UK and Duke will show him what kind of school he wants to spend his year in college at.

All in my completely worthless opinion, as always

Understand he's a very nice young man. Fits into the UK player family profile. Servant leader mold Cal looks for with his stars
