So, this is a combination of the DUI for 1 game and the off field issue for 2-3. Matt Jones also said he knows what the off field issue is and he finds it ridiculous. This really needs to come out.

Heard from someone else today that's around the program that they think he plays against Florida .
Geoff dropped a bomb on HOB this morning. He said it would be 4 games, including UF. Also said they're glad to have him 7 of 8 games and UL because it could have been the entire season.
If you don't know who Geoff is, he only posts breaking FB news. Don't know his source as he never replies after breaking a story but the guy has been right every time
Does anybody actually know what he did besides get a DUI, I see people saying he did something else, a DUI is serious but 3-4 game punishment is harsh
Between last year's frat fight suspension and now this, if we could stop getting as much opposition from the UK behavior police as we do from the rest of the SEC, we'd be in pretty good shape.
Most certainly won’t. I think he would have beat it by a couple hundred yards but no say now. Such chicken shit BS. Do you think Bryce Young would sit this long? Lols. For that matter, would Levis? CROd is so so crucial to this year. He came back when he didn’t have to, one of my all time favorites. Punish the kid but don’t jeopardize his career bc of a mistake. To another point, Mitch and his friends, although I appreciate their financial support(I guess? Their donated money is probably going to the boxes they are sitting in) but these hypocritical ass holes are too rich to get a DUI. They drive around in UK provided transportation while they sip on bottles they walked out of “The Kroge”. Jesus, if I ever hear someone call it the damn “Kroge”.

UK has been pretty damn clean for most of Stoops tenure. Dust up here or there and that’s expected. Lately? I guess we’re SEC for real now.
Granted, the only serious thing I remember is Tubman BS and that was just that, BS and the dude in this class that may or not be involved in that murder. The rest? That’s college. Didn’t we have some players get busted for pushing weight a little bit ago? I’ll admit those optics aren’t good but still….. could you imagine meeting Stoops for the first time after getting arrested or some dumb shit? Imagine how red he would be.
So, you want to be Tennessee. Don't punish our player if it means he can't play against our rival. I like being the better more moral team. If you don't, so be it. Why are we afraid of a bad Florida team? Because they are Florida? Absolute horseshit if CRod sits more than a game for his DUI. He’s already missed SEC Media day which is more pub than all of our OOC games sans UL and that’s just cause he’s gonna murder every “defender” UL has, combined. Some reasons for my feelings on this.
A: Nobody was hurt most importantly, thank God. Seriously, this is the most important and I don’t think we should gloss over that and be thankful it didn’t end in true tragedy.
B: He has been here 5 years and was a church mouse for 4.5 of em. If one mistake will make or break you in this soft ass world, NOT making them should count for something.
C: He was hurt where it hurts the worst, the pocket book(NIL, reputation to NFL, missed game(s))
D: If you don’t think he has ran every step in Commonwealth(I will never call it Kroger Field or the Kroge or any variation of that atrocious sellout name, plus that $$ went to Mitch and his friends sipping Cognac in the boxes) Stadium for the last 6 months, you don’t know Mark Stoops or the culture around this program.
E: I’m sure he’s embarrassed, imagine if every mess up you did in college was publicized and covered like it is for him. Like I said before, one mess up in 5 years of college and people are willing to throw him out with the bath water. Loyalty, lol. I do wonder to all those that say kick him off the team, you have never drank and drive? I bet money you have unless you don’t drink or smoke and in that case you are just boring. I think this whole incident proves we are a basketball school (and before anybody blasts me I am a UK football fan way before UK basketball). Do any of you seriously think we would suspend an All-American basketball player for multiple games, IF this is NIL related? I mean, didn't we only suspend John Wall one game for some illegal benefit before coming to UK? And that was a 40 game schedule. We are basically suspending CRod a third of the entire season.

Just too much BS going on to overcome winning at a place that's hard enough to win at and about to get even harder once Oklahoma and TX are added with a 9 game SEC schedule and an AD who views himself as Ward Cleaver. There seems to be enough good back-ups to win, may have to adjust play calling a bit. The defense may be one of the best we have seen here in a few years, fans are overlooking that group a bit.

i think 1/3 of a season is about the max you get without be ruled ineligible for the entire season if it is a compliance issue
This is the weirdest situation and it really makes me wonder what its like behind the scenes. So, lets go over what we know and then speculate a bit.
1. CRod was caught drunk driving.
2. CRod committed another "offense" that is not being talked about but all summer has been projected as costing him anything from being kicked off the team to a couple game suspension.
3. Apparently CRod will be suspended 1 game for the DUI.
4. Apparently CRod will be suspended 2-3 more games for the other offense.
5. Matt Jones knows the other offense.
6. Matt Jones said he finds the penalty for it to be "ridiculous".
There are multiple program crushing land mines in there if you think about it.
1. This has all been known all summer and a punishment still hasn't been fully decided on. Why? My guess is some pretty bitter disagreements behind the scenes whether its Stoops vs Barney or Stoops vs UK admin. If that is true Stoops will likely move on soon in my opinion. He has had to fight uphill to get our program where it is so he really doesn't need Dudley Do-Right fighting against him from higher ground. That is mentally exhausting for a leader of any sort and you'll only tolerate it for so long. He could easily move to a traditional football school and get full support. That would be program crushing.
2. Derek Willis recently had a much worse drinking episode with no suspension at all. While he didn't get a DUI, we all know he was driving but he was arrested and he was absolutely plastered. At least CRod was able to talk to the police when pulled over. If Willis received no suspension, why should CRod unless that's Stoops choice? Hopefully it isn't the aforementioned difference in support between a basketball school and a football school. If so, that could be another reason for Stoops to move on.
3. Does the punishment really match the crime here? Matt Jones certainly doesn't think so. None of the other UK writers are brave enough to talk about it at all. When Jones refers to it as "ridiculous", it certainly gives me pause. This season is so important for the program that you can't overstate it. Recruiting is finally taking off, we are relevant, we are preseason ranked, we have a punchers chance at Atlanta, CRod is a star and all American with an opportunity to break the rushing record at UK. All of this is huge yet we have some untalked about situation that is seemingly insignificant in the face of a multiple game suspension, yet here we are. Who would do that to themselves other than UK? Will Stoops tolerate it or look for greener pastures. When it does eventually come out will we look so unsupportive of our football program that it kills recruiting? I have no idea on any of it but none of it is good. Again, this has all the potential to be a program crusher.

Since many of us can’t DM can you just post what you’ve heard? We can take it with a grain of salt and understand it’s just a rumor. If it’s extremely sensitive then I don’t want you to, but if it’s just NIL related maybe you can post it with understanding it’s a rumor. It’s just a message board after all
This is all I will post. Involves not following protocol with NIL. That is what was posted on another teams site, falls in line with all the speculation going on here.
Granted but the reporters around the program do know, they've just been asked to keep it quiet. If they do know and they say it isn't x then I think we can safely assume it isn't x.
