Rodriguez opting out

Why are these players playing the season to make a bowl game and then sit out ??
I guess part of the reason is that the regular season has for the most part one week layoffs and we have a month + between UofL and the bowl game. These guys are probably tired of the college football practice routine and think they are better off using that month with professional trainers.

Mr Chris RodleaveUS can kiss my big blue ass.
Same can be said for Mr Will LeaveUS.

Some of our very best players still played in the bowl game. So you boys can kiss ass. Wish you the worst. I mean that. I'll look your stats up in the NFL just hoping you played like shit. I don't respect skipping the bowl game.
Fudge you and your money you might make. Both of ya
You just went to the top of Santa's naughty list sir.

What possible purpose does this serve? Chris Rodriguez is one of the best RBs ever to play at UK. You make it sound like he is the only player in the NCAA to skip a bowl. Keep it classy.

I would be upset if we were in the playoffs, NY6 or a bowl fighting for 10-11 wins. This game means the difference between 8-5 and 7-6. Slightly above mediocre vs mediocre.

I’m attending the basketball game and will follow football on my phone and in the car on the way home. If we win the MCB, great! If we lose, I won’t care.

You sound entitled like those guys personally owe you something.

If I was looking at possibly earning millions of dollars, I wouldn’t risk my health in a fourth tier bowl either to determine the difference between 8-5 and 7-6 either.

He has a few screws loose. He thinks the basketball and football team are his personal servants.

It's all mindless entertainment anyways. If people don't like it each Breaking Bad or the office or whatever else instead of sports.

Being old school, I think if there's a game you play it. However, I can understand. As far as NFL???? Who knows? I never dreamed Fortner would be a starting center from day 1, never dreamed Bowden and Stenberg would just be holding on by threads.
I appreciate the work these guys have done, and wish em luck.

We get to see what next year's team may look like. It would be a trip if one of these kids at QB won MVP then lost their spot to a transfer.

In a sense, no bowl is worth the risk of injury. Might as well just shut all bowls down and let the players walk around in bubble wrap until draft day.
By that reasoning, no football games would be played. An injury is just as likely in a regular season game as in a bowl.

But at the end of the day, people in this country cannot be forced to play football. They do so voluntarily. We could discuss all day about the implied quid pro quo in return for a free college education, but the courts and the legal precedents control this.

I think its handlers getting in their heads. It didn't used to be this way.

My hope is the fans sit out.

If you had season tickets or went to bowls, you'd know season ticket holders had to select their ticket allotment by 12/1. Afterwards there are no changes.

So you weren't going to the bowl anyway and probably rarely, if ever, go to games.

We all knew it was coming after Levis’ decision.

The bowl game will truly be a feast for the eyes!

He will have played in only eight (8) of our thirteen (13) games this year.
That's a shame for him and team.

Good Luck to him in the NFL !!
I hope he can stay healthy and perform well. He's been a great back for us.

I certainly understand your sentiment but I would ask why should they play post the Tenn game? I mean where is the line where playing doesn’t make sense. These guys could get hurt week 1, 2, 3, etc; where is the line when they have done enough to get film?

The reality is that nothing is changing and guys will continue to opt out. I don’t particularly like and wish these guys would play but they won’t. If these bowls are truly meaningless then why send the team? Not sure our young guys going in half staffed with no OC and players opting out will benefit them. Just get the extra practices and workouts and preserve their bodies for the off-season
