Is it the most exciting play in UK history.
Is it the most important?
Is it the greatest?

If it isnt it is way up there.

When you factor in the stakes, the score, the time and field position it has to be somewhere in UK’s all time top 5 plays in its football history.

Agreed?

If not list some that you think would rank higher.

For me, its #1 all time at Kentucky.

It's definitely up there for me. Stevie Got Loose in 2007 is probably my all time number one. Shit that was exciting.

I think the following year with big ole Myron Pryor running that fumble back might just be my favorite. It was so awesome.

I don’t know about greatest play ever but that play was the first time I have yelled at the tv in excitement in years. My wife and daughter looked at me like someone had shot the dog.

Stopping LSU in OT is up there too. The TD pass to Cobb beating Spurrier was great. The run by Roark to beat UT was special. The pick 6 by Bud was special and important too.
Yeah. There was like 4 plays in that LSU game that are up there. Johnson’s TD with Lyons block, the OT stop, the game winning TD to Johnson. While not taking anything away from Wandale there’s been some big time plays here at big times.

Dupree pick 6 against South Carolina
Stevie game winner against Louisville
Bowden punt return against Missouri
Conrad TD against Missouri
MacGinnis kicks against MSU and Louisville
Josh Allen has a bunch on that list. Sack/fumble against Florida, etc
Bowden to Ali against VA Tech

That play today was incredible, but it was also a great throw, great block by Lewis, but what Wandale gave us this year, it’s definitely one of those plays that’s special. I’d actually argue the catch on 3rd down when he got completely hammered by the safety was a bigger play.

So many open options for Will on that play. He had a RB open in the middle of the field for a short gain. Had a dragging TE in the flats. Glad he zeroed in on Wandale. I think that was the game plan for that final drive. Find and feed Robinson.

Robinson's catch and sprint was on Jan 1 with a lot of people casually watching acdoss the ciuntry waitinh fir the Rose Bowl. Of the plays mentioned this will get the most views. Belk Bowl win was great but a simpler pitch and catch play that made a high stress play look easy. Robinson sprint and the C Rod breaks a tackle and pounds it home will be defining gor UK football.

- Anwar Stewart's blocked FG & return against Bama?
- Abney's KO return vs. MSU where the blockers in front of him pushed a couple of MSU guys all the way into EZ in front of him?
- Billy Joe's TD run where he bounced off about 5 five defenders like a pin ball?

It was the peeling out and kicking up dirt that gave the play that extra cherry on top. Not sure where it ranks all time, but it will be remembered.

#1 easy if he scores on that play. We're talking about UK Football here.
I wouldn't diminish UK football here. Now isn't the time. This was our 4th consecutive bowl victory, and our coach is about to overtake Bear Bryant. UK has one of the top football programs in the SEC.

However, Wandale's catch and run, while glorious and amazing for sure, is not the most important or most impressive play in UK football history. I'm not even sure it was the most amazing play in this game. When a player is so badly injured that the coaches say he is done for the day, and the equipment manager takes his helmet away, and then he saves the game late in the 4th quarter with an incredible diving interception, that deserves some consideration too.

Joe Worley's last minute 50 yard FG to beat #9 WI in the 1984 HOF Bowl at Legion Field.

Tim Couch's long pass to Craig Yeast in OT in our victory over Bama.

Andre Woodson's late 4th quarter bomb to Stevie Johnson that beat UL.

The 4th quarter 50 yard Austin MacGinnis FG against MS St in our upset of the Bullfrogs.

Terry Wilson's bomb to Lynn Bowden to take control of our win over FL in the Swamp.

Lonnie Johnson's 4th quarter pick against PA St to save our first Citrus Bowl win.

The long Bowden punt return for a TD to beat Mizzou on the road.

I can think of more. Certainly not minimizing the importance of Wandale's play. Just naming others that rank right up there.

Jeff Badet catching the ball on an 18 yard throw from Stephen Johnson and falling to stop the clock with :03 so McGuinness could put down MSU and Dan Mullen was fun and the start of this current wave, IMO.

You’re not giving Wandale enough credit. He knew if he actually scored on the play there would be too much time on the clock and Iowa could run the ball enough to get in field goal range thus allowing no chance for a Square interception. So he got as close as possible before allowing himself to be tackled. The kid‘s football IQ is off the charts!

Really doubt it.

It's on the list but not quite the best.

To me & I'm a long timer, the Stevie got loose was the most exciting I've seen live. Just a big time game atmosphere & it came after it looked like we lost hope vs our HATED rivals at the time who had it rolling pretty good. Electric atmosphere that whole game & unbelievable finish.

Picking at nits here, boys. A top ten of these would all read, "1A, 1B, 1C, etc."

What I want is a HUGE poster of pics of all these "moments" for an entire wall of my basement.

All great plays but the reverse at LSU in 1998 in the final seconds that Quentin McCord ran for 50+ yards to set up the winning field goal on the final play of the game is one of my favorites.
