Rob Dillingham coming off the bench…

The problem we are getting into is that Cal is resorting back to the Oscar offense, but replacing Oscar with Rob or Reeves. We aren’t going to win much relying on one or two guys to do all the scoring. We need the free-flowing offense we saw early in the season back to keep teams off balance.
I noticed several times when we only had one shooter on the court, who of course the defense was blanketing, we'd move the ball and it could come to Thiero who was standing wide open outside the 3 pt line, he'd try to drive, and drive into 2 or 3 defenders in the paint. Just like the ugly offense of recent years. There's no damn excuse for the lineups he plays. We have 3 dynamic scoring guards who are great shooters, and at minimum 2 of them should be on the court at all times. They should all 3 start and play 30+ minutes.

Just some additional info to consider.

This is as misleading as the stat that used to suggest we couldn't win without dj. The reason behind that rob stat is because we dug ourselves a hole and he alone dug us out and almost rescued us.

Calipari of the past would ride a guy like rob deep into the tournament. Calipari of today has to make sure everyone plays enough.

Something with Dilly that is part of why DIlly doesn't play more....he is a horrible defender. By far lesser of a defender than Reed, DJ, Reeves, etc...

1. In LSU game....the game winning tip....was his man. Rob was incredulously leaking out for a fast break (when the game clock was expiring regardless). Also, under 2 minutes...on a switch he inexplicably leaves the ball handler for a wide open lane and layup
2. Tennessee game…both under basket out of bounds plays for dunk…Dilly is pointing switches vs fighting thru them snd the miscommunications are part of easy buckets
2. Now this late in season…I’d have hoped Cal could coach these lapses out of his game…or play zone to hide him

Dilly is a great offensive player but he is a liability defensively.

1000% correct. Can’t like this enough.
