Most College Basketball Programs would have already fired Pitino with what he has done since being at Louisville. He has now been at UL for almost 15 years and has more scandals since taking over at UL. I am really shocked that UL hasn't pulled the plug on Pitino with the scandals he has been involved with since being at UL. Pitino wanted so bad for a Travis Ford or Pelphrey to get the job at UK before they hired Coach Cal. He has always been so negative of Coach Cal and the supposed things he had done at UMASS and Memphis before coming to UK. The reason Pitino was this way vs. Coach Cal is because of the 1-8 since Coach Cal came to UK, the times he has beaten UL in the NCAA Tourney and Final Four, and being #1 in recruiting since Cal came to UK. Pitino knew with Coach Cal and his recruiting and coming to UK that he wasn't going to get too many of the Top 20 recruits with Cal at UK. That is one reason that Donovan finally left UF was because of the recruiting battles with Coach Cal. With the history of UL basketball the only reason that Pitino is still the Head Coach at UL is the AD at UL Tom Jurich.

Pitino has called our bluff and raised us one name in the banners. No way somebody that flips off the UK fans on his way out the door can remain in our rafters. The gig is up. His name will come down.

Briscoe doesn't play. Skal with his becoming customary 2 point 3 rebound line. Murray was 3 for 14, 3 of 6 from the line, had 7 turnovers and looked worse than his stats would imply. Lee (and Mathews) largely ineffective with fouls. Out rebounded by 10. And yet, Louisville never had a lead in the second half.

We tried every way imaginable to give this away, and Rick couldn't take it. If you're a Louisville fan - or a member of the Miserable Minority on this site - this has to be galling.

Lachlan McLean, of all people, had it right. Cal owns Rick, and that should be presumed until Rick shows its not true. Based on today, smart money says that may never happen.....

Next year's game will be a bloodbath....on their turf. Pinch me.

He can't keep that up. Kid needs to learn to give the ball up earlier and take the open jumper instead of driving with teams collapsing on the interior. At best, Murray had a neutral impact on this game hurting as much or more than helping. And, before I'm accused of bashing Murray I'll state for the record that he is a special talent and I'm glad we've got him. His game just needs to mature and I believe it will in time.
Couldn't have said it better. Murray had some clutch shots but they only neutralized his turnovers.

I thought he needed the ball more before today. Not anymore. Everything he did good happened when he got the ball from Ulis. If he and Ulis get on the same page as to who's the 1 and who's the 2, watch out. Murray is a 2 guard, period.

In the words of Chris Rock...''I'm not saying he should have done it, but I understand''.
I think its funny that you try to justify that in any way. This situation comes down to either being a man or being a little bitch. A real man would have took that loss with class and walked through that tunnel without making the hand gesture and addressed his team. Flipping off a fan is a little bitch move.

Congrats on the win...But do you really think Rick changed his suit , shirt and tie to flip someone off after the game? Mabe a little photo shoping.....

If coach cal would have flipped off another teams fan base, I would be extremely disappointed. You win with class and you lose with the class. The BBN will never have to worry about that as long as coach cal is here.

If he dodged the general media but then talked to Valvano for the radio, then he really should be blasted. Rick only wants to be in controlled media environments. UL has demanded that in that market and the media has let him get away with it time after time.

But I've seen several Louisville media types be critical of his lack of media appearance today. The worm has turned. His time is short. The slime is overflowing its container.
