Let them go and suck. Kenny isn't going to turn that train around.
Louisville can’t keep Payne though that the problem that fanbase will revolt if they do.
Or convert to UK fans. You know we have "house divided" folks that want to come to our side for at least a little bit less misery.
It’s going to take more than two 5* recruits to resurrect that team. If Payne stays (I think he gets the boot), he’ll need a couple real good portal players also.
I mean idk why. We have no need for him based on who's already committed, plus the staff might have a good idea of who's returning already, etc.
And don't forget the portal, PLUS we're in deep on a couple of reclass candidates.
Just not sure there is room for him to be honest.
That sounds like the beginning of a hostage situation to me. I love Kenny Payne and think he's a great #2 kind of coach- a player's coach. But he's shown he's not a head coach. I think the man is as kind and loving toward his players as any coach I've heard about, but being the bad guy is not in him.
Bottom line: I don't see how Louisville can keep Payne as the head coach, even if 5 of the Top 10 recruits agreed to play for him.

I just saw they have zero, again 0, recruits for next season. I don’t think two 5* players will change much over there.
They could have 8 five-star guys and it wouldn’t matter.
Payne is not head coach material. I hope they keep him.
If any truth to wanting to commit to UofL then I don’t want him here.
Imo, I have never thought Knox was or is a priority for the Cats.
Knox ain’t the 5-star you want to revive your program.
Richmond may be better. They are so close in the rankings that it's basically a wash.

Bozo has a thing for Kenny. He is the only one writing anything positive about him, I doubt he knows a thing. If Karter Knox goes there when his brother played here than we definitely don’t want him that’s all I can say because he sure ain’t about winning games. Only thing that makes sense is that we may not have room for his commit.

UK's priorities include getting Peterson and/or Johnson to reclass, Sheppard to return, and potentially even Wagner to return.
With those options - plus Fland, Richmond, Perry, Thiero, and Burks - Knox is not really a primary option for Kentucky at this given moment.

It’s on a totally different level, there is a world where Cal gets another final 4, Kenny won’t make the tournament.
Had a conversation with a buddy who is pretty close to the UL situation and a former division 2 player. He thinks it takes more than 2 years to become a head coach these days with all the responsibilities that an asst coach doesn’t have. Interesting take.
Maybe maybe not. Some coaches need time. I’m from Nebraska. Hoiberg is in his 5th season. Everyone wanted him gone after 2-3 seasons. I think he won 7 games each of his first two seasons. Now they’re a legit tournament team.
I get a gut feeling that Knox could be a Khalil Whitney type.

I don't believe Bozich. Kenny is already gone, their is no reason for these players to wait at this point.
Would you rather have Knox, who will take all season to develop, or a transfer scoring machine ready to go day 1? I feel very bad when we lose any game so go get whoever can help you win every game. We need a big time scoring wing and if Sheppard leaves another big time scoring guard. Looking like our 4 or 5 positions will be strong. Especially if we get Mauch.

If they keep Payne to get Knox and whoever else, they're insane. That's akin to letting the inmates run the asylum. They'd be better off finding an established Coach who can come in and make an immediate recruiting impact with what's left of this year's class and the portal. Whether it's Musselman or they go after Cronin or Oates or somebody like that, they will be better off long term instead of letting a couple of kids dictate what happens.
