Hey guys don't laugh at me I've been following the Cats since 1966!! Let's assume this scenario: Let's hope Louisville doesn't jump and hire Richard Pitino. Assume Cal flames out next year and does his same average coaching with lots of talent, and Richard Pitino stays at New Mexico getting them back in the NCAA Tournament. We hire Richard as our next coach, he brings Dad Rick in as assistant coach. Rick grooms Richard to take over coach indefinitely!! He is a young upcoming coach just imagine with Rick at his side!! Don't flame me out guys!!

Richard isn't very good and will never be I don't think.
I don't think Richard is bad but he's just mediocre. He had 1 good year at FIU, which has always been god awful, and he did win a NIT title at Minnesota with a few NCAA appearances. So he's got some stuff on his resume most coaches don't, but he's FAR from needing to be coaching at a power program (or a power conference period).

Will always be in the shadow of his dad whose accomplishments will far exceed his own.

I don't want the Pitinos anywhere close to our program.

I'm grateful for that unbelievable run back in the 90s, but no. thank. you.
