Yeah, that's exactly what I said, smh.So you are saying dress codes are a bad business decision but discrimination is ok. Got it.
They do in Hollywood.Nobody I know gives a crap about who's eating where they are.
"Most likely won't" you post, so why even take the chance ? In the real world, the rich and famous do get special privileges. It may not be fair but it's life.
In most establihments it's actually good for business to be known for having the rich and famous frequent your business, this is especially true for resturants and night clubs.
That's why Hollywood is full of losers. They do in Hollywood.
I don't eat in places like that either. How about I decide if I want to wear a shirt or shoes?!?Oh I understand it.. Just in no way would I eat where I'm told how to dress..
What about showing up in a thong and sandals?I don't eat in places like that either. How about I decide if I want to wear a shirt or shoes?!?
It's not about should or shouldn't , it's about reality. Do you think UK basketball players don't get special treatment around Lexington that regular students don't. Where is this utopia that you live in?He shouldn't have to abide by rules because he's a basketball player?
That's a good one!Does Rick Pitino follow the dress code at a restaurant
A caste system? It's not about should or shouldn't , it's about reality. Do you think UK basketball players don't get special treatment around Lexington that regular students don't. Where is this utopia that you live in?
I assume that King of Cali lives in Cali, I only get out there once or twice a year. If , as he posted, this particular resturant is frequented by alot of stars , then AD is just one of many ( it is Hollywood) then he is right, no big deal. Thus in my original reply , " the manager has to ask himself if this is a good business decision?" and " it MAY BE in their best interest to bypass the rule for him" but as usual on this board it gets misconstrued.
I've been turned away from several places because of dress code. One time it was because I had a solid color shirt. Another because of my cap
How is that a caste system, most of these NBA players didn't come from rich families? That's a good one!
A caste system?
Because this is America and a private businnes can set their rules as they see fitDress codes are stupid.
Sorry.
Go ahead and tell me they serve some purpose of unwritten fancy pants etiquette that makes a meal less tasty if I eat it in a T-shirt instead of a shirt and tie. At the end of the day, a shirt is a shirt, pants are pants. As long as the naughty bits are covered, WTF cares?
Taco Bell doesn't descriminate either..I have NEVER been turned away. I guess Wendy's and Hamburger Hut don't have a dress code?
It was the restaurants choice to enforce the dress code. It would also be perfectly fine for AD to purchase land directly across from the restaurant in question, offer an identical menu and dining experience for about half-price and laugh as the place becomes a ghost town. If I had his money I know that is what I would do.

But do rulers make rules, or take measurements?Rules are rules...
Walmart needs a dress code...I don't have a problem with dress codes though. If you don't have them in nicer places, you will get people in pajamas or shorts and a wife-beater with flip-flops.
That's true, that's not a good argument. How is that a caste system, most of these NBA players didn't come from rich families?
You people must not get out much, the rich and famous have always been afford special priviledges. Of course that doesn't happen in the mountains but get out a little , a major city or something. This is not something new, it's been going on for ages.
From AD of the Year and Hero in Louisville, to not being admitted to a restaurant and being called out by Papa John. Man, Jurich is taking a beating these days....
