Still plenty of things to accomplish this season. In my order of importance:
1. Beat UT
2. Beat Little Brother
3. Beat Georgia
4. Win out (duh)
5. New Year's Day Bowl (actually Jan. 2nd)
6. Keep Kroger Field filled and pumped up (recruiting)
7. Individual accolades

Actually, if #4 happens then all the rest will fall into place. Kentucky (1-2 SEC) has not had consecutive winning records in the SEC since 1976-77. Before that it was 1953-54. Will any, or all, of these things happen this year? Probably not, but who knows? I've been a fan since the mid 1970s. I'm not gonna stop now. If you're someone who has given up on them, then give your tickets away to someone who still cares, or sell them cheap so someone else can benefit. Donate them to a charity. You're entitled to feel however you want, but I see a lot of opportunities remaining this season. #GoCats

I think we match up ok vs MSU. Their QB is solid and throws the ball pretty evenly to their top 4 receivers. They use 10-15 yard passes and runs after the catch to move the ball. Their 2 RB’s are decent and catch as many balls out of the backfield as their receivers. Tough team from that stand point but if we play to our ability we can compete for sure.
Like us, most of their tackles on d are made by linebackers or DB’s. I like CR against them if we can open some holes for him. We have 3 top notch receivers who can run good routes , catch the ball and are fast.
The kicking game is about equal percentage wise on FG’s.
They beat an up and down A&M team and Arkansas however teams have been able to score on them.
Lots of IF’s but I would not count us out of this game.
Play mistake free football and we can get the W.
Play calling will make a huge difference. But again assuming Levi’s is back and healthy we have a solid chance.
Just my take….

Appreciate the OP’s post. We have to be able to get pressure on Rogers and get some sacks to get them behind the chains. Conversely, our OL has to protect Levis and continue to improve its run blocking for us to have a chance on Saturday. There’s definitely a path to winning, but we’ll have to play our best game of the season to do so.

Let’s just cover the spread and be happy about it. If we do that from here on out, we’ll finish 7-5 at least.

I was worried about this game before last week. Our d line puts no pressure on opposing QBs, our DBs tend to give up the short passes in order to prevent big plays (Leach loves the short passes), and I don’t think we have the offensive firepower to keep up (haven’t scored 40 all season, which is what MSU scored last week on Ark).

How are you going to do any of those things with a freshman QB from Somerset playing?

Completely agree with your list. I don't think we can beat UT (I actually like our chances against Georgia more than I like our chances against UT based on game being at home vs. road and also style of play). 9-3 probably gets us a NY6 bowl, depending on what happens elsewhere. If so, that would mean that the Orange bowl or Sugar bowl is in play.

If we do not get an upset over UGA or UT, then finishing 8-4 would still be a good season and would allow us to continue with positive momentum building into the future. That makes this weekend's game that much more important.

9 and 3 didn't in 2018 or 2021. I doubt it does this year either to be honest.

Of the remaining games I just don't see us beating GA or Tenn at Tenn. So, I would like to see us beat Miss. St this weekend and end up 8-4. Of course, 10-2 is best, but...........

They’re the one team that is happy as can be taking what we give every single play. MSU is the last team to let keep everything in front of you because the QB will take the check down for 5 every time. See last year or so where he was like 38/40 for the game.

our defense plays right into MSUs hands on O

Like it or not, that's its name now. To complain about that is just being a crumudgeon.

I don’t act cromgdun. I don’t even know what that is.

It’s commonwealth stadium. I don’t grocery shop on football fields.

I hope I'm wrong but I think we're looking at 4 game losing streak and a possible 5th at Missouri. I just don't have confidence in our line at all.

If Levis isn’t 100%, State is going to roll us.

This. Before the season we matched up well. Now, not really. Down two starting safeties vs a team we'll absolutely need to tackle and a superstar DC that killed us last year.

Also I think many, including myself, underestimated the grind of 7 straight games. It's been brutal. If we can somehow win this game and get to the bye we might still have big things in store

Season is not over and much can be done good especially for program momentum going into next season and recruiting.
But yeah we have had 2 straight games of Flubbed up ugly football that's for sure.

I still believe... Go Cats...

In particular one thing I would like would be passing records so we can attract the best offensive players possible. We have the guy to throw it and the guys to catch it all over the field consistently. Let's get an offensive reputation going while we have the horses.

It's a close call, and it's entirely dependent on what other teams do. In 2018, Florida was given the peach ball with a 9-3 record despite our head to head win against them and an identical record. 10-2 is a shoe-in for NY6, but 9-3 is borderline.

Pretty tough evaluation OP. The QB who is the career leader for completions in the SEC is only solid? I am not looking forward to playing him.

Measures of Success:
1-Qualify for a Bowl Game
2-8 win season
3-Winning Record in SEC
4-10 win season
5-Finish in top 3 of SEC East
6-Finish 2nd in SEC East
7-Win SEC East
8-Win SEC Championship
9-Win National Championship

All of these are incremental measures of success, and each is something worth playing for that we can possibly still achieve (granted 7-9 are far fetched at this point).

We can't lose to both Miss teams in the same year. It won't go well if that happens.

Alright…

In a perfect scenario where all the stars align…—UK beats UT and UGA.
—UGA knocks off UT for their 2nd L
—Georgia then has the worlds largest cocktail party in JAX agains UF and they go on the road to a ranked MSU so if they lay a Mizzou egg they could reasonably drop one of those for their 2nd L

^^^^Thats our verrrryyy narrow hidden in the bushes path to the SECCG

Success is to Win a Bowl any Bowl and close out strong on recruiting while holding on to players to win the transfer game. Must wins Louisville and Vandy. The hope had been a NY 6 game but the injuries and having Will out for a winnable game along with Tenn and Georgia being playoff caliber did hurt. Also O Line is down a bit. Still possible 9&3 and going to Tampa Jan 2 to beat another Big 10 opponent is a nice season 5-2 first half and 5-1 back half of schedule would be really good.

9-3 might get us NYD6 (See UF, 2018), and very likely gets us Citrus in Orlando, again. The Citrus does allow repeats (most recently LSU), and has carte blanche choice after NYD6 bowls have selected, and has always taken the highest ranked SEC team after the NYD6 are filled.

Fanbase eager to travel with the potential #1 overall pick and two exciting wrs. That combo has the potential to move us up a bit more than we might deserve.

*Yes I know crod is incredible but his style isn't must see football to the average fan
