Regardless of the outcome the rest of the way

Pope has to have achieved more than anyone could’ve hoped for. Even if we lose Sunday. With that being said, let’s keep this rollin!

But seriously, I would’ve never guessed a 3 seed this year. My only tourney expectation was to make the tourney and win 1 game. I know that sounds crazy low of an expectation at Kentucky. But considering how we had an entirely different team and coaching staff a year ago. And Pope did t have time to get high end recruits. He put a pretty damn good transfer class together in a short period of time and overachieved.

With that being said, he’s setting the bar now to where the bar ought to be. We should have some nba talented freshman and some good players coming back (please OWEH, please), and I’m sure he fills a really good transfer class. So the talent will be better next year. And the bar will be set higher. And that’s the way we love it!


On a side note, I actually had very little anxiety this year bc of my “not so high expectations”. But I can always refill my Xanax for next year 😬

I wanted at least 20 wins in the regular season, at least 1 win in the SEC Tournament, and at least 1 win in the NCAA Tournament. But now I want more!

I got 2 Xanax in my medicine barrel. Maybe Sunday I should try 1. Had them forever as it is. If a guy can't use a Xanax in a March Madness game I doubt a person would ever need them.

I want this team to go as far as they can. It has been fun to watch but frustrating knowing how good this team could have been if they would have stayed healthy.

Here is what they have accomplished so far that not many expected.

Beat Duke with Flagg
Beat Gonzaga after the Zags have beaten the Cats 2 years in a row.
Beat Louisville - Enough said
Beat Florida - SEC Champions and could win this tournament.
Beat Tennessee twice - Again enough said.

Won more games (23 vs 22) than last years team without having 2 NBA lottery picks.
Won an SEC tournament game that last years team could not do without having 2 lottery picks.
Won an NCAA Tournament game and beat a 14 seed that last years team could not do even with 2 lottery picks.
Has gained 2 wins in the all time wins total in college basketball and counting.

Did all of that with a much tougher schedule than last years team faced even without 2 lottery picks.
