Reeds little stunt just cost me $350

You woulda been effed if Reed did nothing and the Florida guy made the shot lol

The spread started at UK-1 and by game time it was UK-3 1/2. You lost your money b/c you didn't bet early enough.
He must have bet during the game because if he bet either time before the game UK was the dog. He had to bet during live action when they had UK +3.5, IF that ever happened and his story is true.

I had two bets.

UK ML with a 25% boost. Bet 10, won 27$.

4 Leg Parley, 50% Boost. UK ML, UK/UF Under 170.5, Kansas ML, FAU ML. The game was sitting at 170. The 2 Free throws made it 172. I guess he could have hit the shot. Wish Reed had stayed away and let it fly.

Up 7$ on the day. Cats go a huge road win. Life could be worse.
Fau lost.

Moneyline = Team that wins. So you bet the Kentucky moneyline, you are betting Kentucky to win

Spread = how much a team wins or loses by. Let’s say the spread is Kentucky -4.5, this means Kentucky is a 4.5 point favorite. Betting this means Kentucky has to win by 5 or more for your bet to pay. If Kentucky wins by 1, 2, 3, or 4, your bet loses.

If Kentucky is the underdog it looks like this, Kentucky +4.5. Kentucky can still lose by 1, 2. 3 or 4 and your bet still wins if Kentucky loses by 5 or more, your bet loses.
Wow. Thanks a bunch for explaining that to me. I have always heard those terms and when I tried looking it up, I didn't get it. So thanks again for explaining them in a way I understand. That's really helpful.🙂

GO BIG BLUE!!!💙💙💙

Bro that was a clean block. The refs cost you money if anything.
Absolutely. A block so clean and amazing that the refs must have blown the whistle accidently in shock!!!

And if Reeds play at the end of the game cost you money, hope you keep losing it till April!!!!

Kentucky was the underdog how do you lose money they still won also that 3 ball might still gone in had he backed away
He must have bet the under. The under was anywhere between 169.5 to 170.5. The two free throws put it over on some of the lines.

Yeah, UK escaped with the W, but I wonder what all of you who think that play was no big deal, would think had he given up a 4 point play?

OP, troll or not is correct, that was one of the biggest boneheaded things Reed could have done in that situation up 4 with a couple of seconds left.

I agree it was a mistake to go for the block because of the potential for a foul call
I also think it was an instinctive reaction and it might’ve been the right one had it been a 3 pt game rather than a 4 pt. He should’ve let it go
The block was clean though, he got all ball

Still he should’ve just

Which is dumber? What Reed did or betting on college athletes to beat a spread? I think the dumber person in this scenario is quite obviously the original poster.

I love Reed, but in this situation, it was one of the dumbest plays in sports. UK had ZERO percent chance of losing that game if he just let the guy catch and shoot like 999 out of 1000 players from high school to pro would have done.

It was a clean block so Reed did absolutely nothing wrong he did what he was absolutely supposed to do block the shot…… If you want to blame someone blame the dumb@$$ ref that blew the whistle for a phantom foul…

Really hard for a freshman not to "play" right there. On the other hand, a senior (like say J Phelphrey) has the discipline to stay at home and not foul a guy who maybe has a hot hand and hasn't missed a foul shot all day. You have to learn that game/clock awareness. HAHA

I just love these kids are all dawgs. I thought Wagner got the lane whenever he wanted (a la SGA), the bigs both made a couple big plays. Reeves had a quiet 19. Next game it might be Dilly and Edward's. After that Shep and Bradshaw. By March, we could be a match up nightmare if everyone keeps their head right.

The line closed as underdogs. Only a live bet would have gotten him at -3+. Florida opened -1 on draftkings and many other sites. I think he was on the under, just can’t see anyone taking Kentucky -3 and up in a live bet for that much unless they didn’t watch any of the game.

Dumbest move ever.
Nope, just the reflexes of a stone cold assassin. Reed's a competitor, saw low hanging fruit right in front of him, and stuffed the stiff's shot. AND it was a clean block. LOVE this kid's fight!

I'd gladly venmo 350 if someone could fine and suspend that officiating crew.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time...

If you've got the money and don't lose your head, it's actually pretty fun. Won $600 on the UK/UofL basketball game alone. Won another $600 on an 11 pick parlay that would've only cost me $9. Last night I won $119 on a $5 bet and this afternoon $153 betting on UK and against UofL. I leave a little in my DK account then take the rest out and stash it in my banking account. The goal is to rarely dip back into your banking account.
What do you use? Like site?

To be fair, the refs cost you. That block was clean as a whistle. But SEC refs can’t help themselves but be awful at their jobs.
The UF players flopped and threw their head on any contact to get a foul called. The PG fell to the floor on every shot and it worked at least 2-3 times that they called a foul on no contact. The one play when he drove past Reed, dribbled the ball off his foot and then dove to the floor trying to get the ball before it went out and the ref trailing the play called Reed for pushing had me just shaking my head. 😂😂

I love when these little things happen.

Reed hit the free throws to seal the win and please the true UK fans … and then throwd in a needless foul at the very end just to screw with the gamblers.

Kudos, young man.
if wagner or edwards did that... this board would have blown up.
Reed does it... haha no biggie.
I get all the love for Reed, but man some of our fans...

The backstory: this was literally my first time betting on sports. I was listening to the game 5 hours into a 7 hour drive through rain/snow while dealing with chronic back pain.

The outcome: me screaming the f word for a solid minute, making this post and then smoking 3 cigarettes back to back while severely breaking the speed limit.

The aftermath: I’ll never bet on sports ever again. And I’ll always remember Reed for that “Are you f***ing kidding me?!!!” moment and being the reason I don’t bet on sports. Perhaps that bone-headed move saved me from going down that rabbit hole….

Lesson learned. Quite ridiculously.

The first lesson is to bet responsibly. Nothing wrong with throwing 5, 10, 15, 20 on a game if you've got it. I make small bets, so if I lose, I'm not you, and about to shit a brick.

Freshman making a freshman play. Sort of like the end of the Kansas game. Reminds you they are freshmen, learning on the go.

One thing they kind of left out is you win more or less on the moneyline depending in if you take the favorite or underdog. For example, the UK-U of L football game. If I bet $25 on UK and took 6 1/2 points (the spread) I would have won $23 and collected $48. I bet the moneyline instead and got around 2 1/2 to one so the same $25 bet won $62.50 and collected $87.50. If you would have bet the same $25 on Louisville to win and they would have won the game (ha ha) you would have won maybe $10 and collected $35.

I didn't get the same odds on DK unfortunately but I feel like I got some vengeance.

Sort of like what Feldhouse and Pelphrey did against Latener (sp?)?
Nope. We were up by 1 in that game and the guy catching it was 9-9 from the field. They should have defended. If we had been up 4, then they should have done what they did.

The ref that called that foul needs to be looked at. Maybe he has your 350$ because no one could see that on tv or in person and call it a foul unless they were really stupid or had another motive.

Reed, did in fact, commit a foul. He got him with his leg when he jumped by to block the shot.

I don't see any contact but even if he did it was because the guy kicked his leg out. When they do that it is supposed to be an offensive foul as it was one of the infamous points of emphasis a couple of years ago.

Just send him a bill and forget about it.... then if needed, take it off your taxes...

I always just do $10 parlays. Hit last night with Maryland, FAU and Illinois. I like to have a little action, win some beer money for the bar, and if I lose its $10 so no biggie.

I'm up $600 doing that since online started. Doing I know a ton about the NBA? Not a ton but I will do their no sweat same game parlay because if I win, I win. If I lose, I get the free $10 bet I was going to do on NFL this weekend anyway.
