Reed Sheppard Experience 4/11 at Rupp

To me he puts himself in range of voices telling them to come back. Seems like decent good news to me.
If your Sheppard and already decided your going pro
or you haven't decided to go pro... Either way doing this camp wouldn't be the best idea at that time. Your going to feel some pressure imo

What would the benefit be to him coming back to play under Calipari? On a worse team?

I guess I’m delusional to you then. If Reed leaves then I’m probably off the board maybe forever. There’s absolutely no reason for him to leave. I’d say it’s 99% he will return.

No reason? If he’s picked where he’s currently projected he will make $20 MILLION DOLLARS.

That’s a pretty good reason.

I'm bitter because of where this program has gone, and how all of its priorities are completely messed up. Why can't we FOR ONCE have players say "we screwed up, we're coming back to fix this mess and win a title"? It's fail-and-bail, and profit off the fans who paid money to watch you fail miserably at the end. I don't wish Reed any ill will at all, but the culture here HAS TO CHANGE.
Nothing will change as long as ccc is coach. When that double talking used car salesman is gone, maybe the ship can be kept from sinking further

Anyone that doesn't appreciate Reed and his contributions is a fool. He played his heart out for this clown of a coach. Sure, he made mistakes, but who hasn't.

Ok maybe delusional is a strong word, how about not weighing history of recruits like him under Cal because he’s a legacy kid. I think the blue tinted glasses are showing here. If it was anyone else they would not expect a return or think it’s even close to 50/50, let alone 99%.

Why would you be off the board forever just because you think he will return? Nobody will remember like a year from now unless someone bumps this threads for a dumb reason. I just don’t think it’s rational expecting him to turn down a top 10 pick which will be worth 30M alone not counting his endorsements off the court.

Love Reed and will always appreciate how he played for us. He’s a great player and I wish he would come back and try again. I want him to have a lasting legacy like his father. I and probably all of BBN wanted him to be the one who got us back in the final 4.

Unfortunately he had his worst games all year when it mattered most. I don’t want that to be the end of his career here. It just seems like this draft has lined up perfectly for him to go higher than he ever expected.

Honestly he might draw a much bigger crowd if folks think he’s leaving i.e. this is their last chance ever.
Could be, a lot of people are over players staying a year and accomplishing nothing if nite though. Of course he is a special case but I can see some not do it because of the season ending again.

Anyone who thinks he is coming back is delusional to me. I suppose it’s possible but I don’t see anyone turning down a top 10 pick.
WCS did and he says hed give all his nba money back to re live his UK days. I still hold a small amount of hope he comes back bc you cant get the college experience ever again. Reed doesnt strike me as a NBA show me the money type kid either.

We have had a few players express that over the years but somehow it never gets to guys like Edwards who bolt anyway. Large roster spot for then next year. Sophomore year is a huge improvement for many. NIL is available yet he bolts with no hope of a first round pick.

Willie would probably be the first to tell you that basketball was never as big a part of his life as it was for his teammates.
Willie was a different dude who had interests in a lot of things non basketball.
I really question what the actual "college experience" is for UK players now.
Seems like Cal tries to keep them on an island as much as possible.
Most of their class work is done online and from Oct. to April there is little time for anything non basketball related.

You kinda have to blame the 1 year rule for that.
JE and others probably never wanted to come to college period.
