Take a break big guy, Jeez. So now we are ripping Reed .He should be working on getting better for next year.
Or he keeps it hush hush so it doesn’t hurt attendance. He’ll draw a bigger crowd if UK fans think (or at least still have hope) he’s staying.Feels telling to me about the decision coming. I would assume he announces before then so he doesn’t get asked all night.
Not a "guy". Eventually you'll learn what many here know. And if you think criticism of a player is "ripping", then you should bow out of following sports. This program needs a massive facelift, and a change in culture to reflect one where players are desperate to get back to work improving their game.Take a break big guy, Jeez. Those days are gone, the sooner you realize that the soon your can change your archaic mindset. Now that players can make money, they will and should, and that doesn't preclude them from wanting to improve and doing so.Not a "guy". Eventually you'll learn what many here know. And not take advantage of the huge financial opportunity he has to spend a few hours one day with fans? He can work out plenty that same day if you want. Not a "guy". I'm bitter because of where this program has gone, and how all of its priorities are completely messed up. Why can't we FOR ONCE have players say "we screwed up, we're coming back to fix this mess and win a title"? It's fail-and-bail, and profit off the fans who paid money to watch you fail miserably at the end. I don't wish Reed any ill will at all, but the culture here HAS TO CHANGE.Those days are gone, the sooner you realize that the soon your can change your archaic mindset. Shit, if never winning a post season game epitomizes what UK basketball should be about, we screwed.I'd give Reed $100 just to shake his and his family's hands and thank them. They epitomize what UK basketball should be about.
Reed and Oscar are just about the only two players we've had that I would consider giving NIL money to.
Shit, if never winning a post season game epitomizes what UK basketball should be about, we screwed.
Take the name Sheppard away, and he has done nothing countless other freshman haven't already in the last 14 seasons.
I get the appreciation for his parents!
Winning has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. I'm just talking about the kind of people they are. Good folks.Shit, if never winning a post season game epitomizes what UK basketball should be about, we screwed.

Hell, anyone would say that when money is on the line. I am sure Reed loves UK, but if he chooses to bounce after his first year, when he won nothing for the school or fans and played like dog poo in his only tournament games, he really is no different than the countless others who did the same. And I definitely don't think that epitomizes what UK is about. At least it shouldn't.I think the fact that Reed actually appreciates the fans and considered himself one, given the era, would have made him a fan favorite anyway. Many of the Calipari era players talk about the NBA and sometimes don’t even give lip service to the program. Reed is one of us, he calls us his people. Plus, he’s a legacy too so it’s not like it’s not understood as a special player. But I think even if you take the name away given how he acted toward the program he’d be loved. Especially when you’re also as good as he was.
Well said.Hell, anyone would say that when money is on the line. I am sure Reed loves UK, but if he chooses to bounce after his first year, when he won nothing for the school or fans and played like dog poo in his only tournament games, he really is no different than the countless others who did the same. Honestly, if he leaves now, what is the difference in him and a guy like SGA other than family name?
He will have top notch trainers when he gets to the league next year. None of this rolling ballsHe should be working on getting better for next year.
More like G-LEAGUE city.I hate to say it, but this feels like something you do when you know you are leaving -- a last chance for Kentucky fans to interact with Reed before he's gone from the state and living the next phase of his life in some NBA city. It is a more sophisticated version of those pre-NIL "autograph tours" players would take around the state after they were no longer covered by NCAA rules.
I certainly hope I am wrong. But if he goes, I wish him well.
I just think that if you're leaving, THEN LEAVE. Especially after what you and your team did when it really mattered, at the end of the season. What exactly are they wanting to be remembered for? Win a title, then do something like this. Otherwise, it's just a cash grab in exchange for having given nothing to UK. He's got a great family, but this La NBA Familita or whatever it is, needs to go. We need A REAL COACH, and GUYS WHO WANT TO PLAY FOR TITLES.I hate to say it, but this feels like something you do when you know you are leaving -- a last chance for Kentucky fans to interact with Reed before he's gone from the state and living the next phase of his life in some NBA city. Anyone who thinks he is coming back is delusional to me. I suppose it’s possible but I don’t see anyone turning down a top 10 pick.I hate to say it, but this feels like something you do when you know you are leaving -- a last chance for Kentucky fans to interact with Reed before he's gone from the state and living the next phase of his life in some NBA city. I agree, it’s just a cash out. I’m good though because I won’t be going. I don’t begrudge any fan that wants to attend though. I’d love to have his autograph on a ball or jersey.I just think that if you're leaving, THEN LEAVE. Especially after what you and your team did when it really mattered, at the end of the season. Honestly he might draw a much bigger crowd if folks think he’s leaving i.e. this is their last chance ever.Or he keeps it hush hush so it doesn’t hurt attendance. He’ll draw a bigger crowd if UK fans think (or at least still have hope) he’s staying.
And if he's intending to leave, but pulls those shenanigans, then he deserves every bad karma coming his way. I do not like liars, no matter who they are. UK fans have been getting shafted by the players and the coach for quite some time now. That shit needs to stop.Honestly he might draw a much bigger crowd if folks think he’s leaving i.e. this is their last chance ever.
No one is getting shafted that voluntarily shows up and pays money. And if he's intending to leave, but pulls those shenanigans, then he deserves every bad karma coming his way. I do not like liars, no matter who they are. UK fans have been getting shafted by the players and the coach for quite some time now. That shit needs to stop.
Why? Other than being someone's son, what has Reed actually accomplished for UK basketball?Honestly he might draw a much bigger crowd if folks think he’s leaving i.e. this is their last chance ever.
If he plans on leaving and more people attend because they think he might leave how is that shenanigans? And if he's intending to leave, but pulls those shenanigans, then he deserves every bad karma coming his way. Sure, pal. Be butthurt all you want. Why? Other than being someone's son, what has Reed actually accomplished for UK basketball?
He should announce that he’s announcing his decision at the camp, and he’ll sell out tickets in 5 minutes.Or he keeps it hush hush so it doesn’t hurt attendance. He’ll draw a bigger crowd if UK fans think (or at least still have hope) he’s staying.
I'm butthurt because I asked a valid question, which you couldn't even provide an answer for? What kind of hillbilly logic are you using?Sure, pal. Be butthurt all you want.
I guess I’m delusional to you then. If Reed leaves then I’m probably off the board maybe forever. There’s absolutely no reason for him to leave. I’d say it’s 99% he will return.Anyone who thinks he is coming back is delusional to me. I suppose it’s possible but I don’t see anyone turning down a top 10 pick.
Amazing you have to spell it out but … here we areI think the fact that Reed actually appreciates the fans and considered himself one, given the era, would have made him a fan favorite anyway.
