Reds

Ramos & Friedl on IL, still no TJ Hopkins. Hopkins needs to be getting Fairchild's playing time.

Once again, Reds have built a singles team to play in a hitter's park. NYY had 6 hits today but 4 were extra base hits, double, triple and 2 HRs. Reds had 6 hits counting only one XBH, a gift double. Steer has been encouraging along with Fraley but TS looks very uncomfortable at the plate and Senzel has predictably returned to Earth with a loud thud, now hitting .240 with less than ten XBHs as his Ks piling up. Team needs to be built for power in a small park but power hitters in the Reds MiLB are being ignored.

Greene pitched somewhat better but continues to be plagued by HRs.

Very good post. Reds get 6 to 10 hits a game but 90% of them are singles. Very very few home runs. Like today the other team will get five to seven hits but two or three leave the yard. And I was encouraged by Greene today much better than his last four starts.

Reds always have former players come back to bite them in the ass. Wandy Peralta being the latest. Welcome back to last place my Redlegs.

Inept talent, especially on the consistent basis, and Bell's in game decisions continue to rival that of a little league parent trying to coach. Worst manager the Reds have ever had.

John Sadak's continuous on-air hype about this team is nauseating.

Prime example re Bell was Sat's game vs NYY. Barrero in CF races deep into left center to make a catch. Inning or 2 later he races deep into right center to make a catch. Meanwhile, he also has a hit or 2, soft singles but hits none the less. 7th rolls around and Fairchild replaces Barrero(no word that maybe Barrero was dinged or whatever). It was if the "little league parent" you mention took over and Bell said: "By god I'm playing my kid and there's nothing you can do about it!!" Problem is Bell is part of Reds Royality, going back to I guess his grandfather, Gus Bell.

Sadak.....UGH! Keep asking myself: "If these guys are as good as Sadak lets on, why aren't they winning more games??"

I was there Sat. It was awful. Even though in the 10th Rizzo hit the HR, Judge should have been walked to set up a potential DP, hold the runner at 3B situation, etc.....instead of trying to throw three straight by him w/ a runner on 3rd.

I think at one point NYY had 6 straight hits and I was actually concerned for the safety of both fans and players during that streak. Rockets hit all over the park, everything 100+ MPH exit velo. Reds pitching was fooling no one.

I imagine if Gilbault never sees Rizzo again it can't be soon enough.

What sucks worse is that the Cardinals have won 8 of 10 coming into the series tonight. And most of those were against the Dodgers and Brewers we dropped to dead last after the sweep. Things not trending in the right direction.

Senzel walk-off sac fly. 2 for him this year. Always good to beat St. Louis especially after passing up the Reds!

Dropping India down to 3rd worked out that time. Like the move myself. LeCure can criticize it all he wants, time will tell if it is the correct move or not but rather have India's speed and his pop to drive in runs. Friedl has sneaky power too but is more of a traditional leadoff hitter.

Shitcan Myers ASAP!!!
Watching him try to lay down the bunt, no one on and no out is comical. Was not brought in to tank this lineup but to be a stop gap. Does nothing for the future of the Reds especially with Hopkins tearing it up in Louisville. Forget calling him up with the next injury, ditch Myers and call him up now with the roster spot. Wil is simply dead weight.

The Reds are going to have a very good hitting lineup here shortly but I'm really worried about the pitching. Louisville Bats had a 9-0 lead tonight after an inning and a half, it's now 11 to 11. I just don't see any pitching in the minors.

He looked so good but he's been getting lit up lately.

4 straight games that he has thrown batting practice. It was just a matter of time before teams picked up on him, as his stuff is avg at best, and with only a couple of pitches, one of them needs to be all world.

Salazar had a 0.51 ERA, 0.96 WHIP & 25 K's in 12 games. With Louisville & Chattanooga. Hopefully this means Lyon Richardson is getting promoted to Louisville in his place but it appears they have signed reliever Shea Spitzbarth.

Good win. Must admit I haven't followed STL closely, didn't realize how poor their pitching staff is. NLC....fugly.

Absolutely. Way more money tied up in a bunch of pitchers whose careers are nothing but Jekyll and Hyde. I know the Reds are hit and miss with their young starters but these guys St. Louis have are established veterans that are inconsistent and all of them but Flaherty making $10 million or more. Have had just enough success in their careers that an organization can't simply cut them. Matz was extremely overrated when he came up with the Mets. Flaherty has been decent outside of this year. Seems like every other year Mikolas is good followed by a subpar season. Pitching well today. Wainwright old and gone after this year. Montgomery can't stay healthy and there's a reason the Yankees were willing to part with him with the lack of SP at the back end of their rotation.

Earth to Reds FO: I realize this is beating a dead horse but you're playing in a HR hitter's park. Playing singles station to station baseball won't cut it. You have HR/extra base hit hitters in AAA. Don't you understand what you need to do??
