Redick

Because down 2-1 in the series and with a big lead in game 4, he played all of his starters the whole second half. Some of the worst game management I’ve ever seen.

He choked because he had no faith in his rotations.
He didn’t even play Dalton Knecht. I don’t even know how you justify that. A DNP.

Lest we forget how the older generation feels about Redick.

If he played back then he would cry. They couldn’t shoot 800 3’s a season back then because they wouldn’t be able to kick their foot out and get a foul call. Guys would hand check them on the line. League leaders shot 200-300 3’s a year until about the later 2010’s. Now it’s insane the level everyone shoots at a game.

It’s a word. A common word. It has interpretations like a lot of other words. I didn’t know JJ had so many protectors on the UK board
No. Words have actual meanings. In fact, those meanings are detailed in a book.

It’s much easier to say you misspoke and say you used a word incorrectly.

I didn’t misspeak. I think he’s woke. And words do have detailed meanings. Some have multiple meanings… but the google definition of woke describes him to a T if you want to say I misspoke when I said exactly what I wanted to say.

Knecht was a DNP for essentially the entire series. I don’t know if he got single meaningful minute in any of the five games.
I know, it is insane to me. He should be a big part of the rotation in the future and he played well enough to get some minutes at least this series.

The question was pretty straight forward: "How does JJ being a jackass make him woke?"

So what makes him woke? Why do you think he's woke?

Is it because he speaks about racial and social injustice? He doesn't.

Or is it, because you don't like him and you incorrectly use the term "woke" to describe people that aren't racist.

Yeah that’s not choking but I get what you’re saying.

That team had zero chance of winning anything this season.

JJ might need to see the owner and management went above his boy LeBron and realize he actually has to prove his mettle going forward. Surely LeBron will go elsewhere this offseason.

A coach being too scared to play his subs is choking, as far as I’m concerned. You want to label it something else I don’t really care but no sense arguing about it.

Not sure how you can say they had zero chance of winning anything. They climbed to the 4 seed. They were winning game 4 and should have gone back home tied 2-2. Before JJ and company choked it away.

Don’t know how deep they would have gone, but a first round win was well within their reach. Weren’t going far playing 5 guys though.

Every single analyst I watched picked the Lakers in 5, then after the series like usual now the roster is totally flawed and they had no chance lmfao. They level they go to protect LeBron and make excuses for Reddick kills me.

You do realize the Lakers were the higher seed and the clear favorite to win the series when it began, right? And with home court advantage.

Making it sound like they were just some poor widdle underdog that never had a fair chance is some laughable history revisionism.

To be fair to PhattyJ I said during the Luka trade I didn’t think they would be very good and when it mattered they had no defense or big man now, I thought they were extremely overrated but it’s easy to win a lot of games in season with a couple stars because of injuries and lax defense. Plus the guys who sit to rest and all that stuff. TV made it seem like they had a title shot. They obviously had enough to win this series, but not by playing 5 guys 40 minutes lol.

Whoever thought the Lakers were gonna run through the rest of the Timberwolves series, or really any series, without a viable center is crazy. Lakers were wise to go for Luka, but their frontcourt is a hot disaster.

JJ doesn’t really have the roster those other two coaches had.

Not sure year 1 is enough to make a judgment on a guy who literally has no coaching experience.

Will be interesting to see who they draft.

Why was he hired? It's comparable to if UK hired Pope after he spent a few years on sec network analyzing games and had a UK SEC centric podcast with 0 coaching experience.

Steve Kerr worked out as a guy who was a very intelligent broadcast guy with zero experience.

Doc Rivers was a media guy with zero coaching experience. He did pretty well.

You’re acting like it’s unprecedented. It’s not.

Folks are just looking for something to get worked up about.

Lakers generally are a target historically. Big successful franchise in a showtime global port city.

Throw in Lebron…arguably the goat still playing high level over 40.

Throw in Lebron’s kid.

Throw in a former Dukie on top of all that and it’s apparently a lot for folks.

Lakers have no bigs. Doesn’t matter what kind of coach you have. If you can’t guard the paint, you’re not winning an NBA Championship.
