In my opinion.


People are so upset because they have unrealistic expectations. Expectations for the team and the QB.

We are not there yet people.

This will take time. We will see glimpses, but we will see inconsistency.

Our QB will take more time, our oline will take more time, our defense will take more time, our Coaches will take more time. Our special teams needs a total revamp.


People slaughtering PT during the game thread, kid ends up with 329 yards on 70% and 3 TD's, brought us back like a champ...

Zero running game and line was awful until 4th quarter,pretty good for as bad as he sucked according to so many.


His last two games: 578 yards, 5 TD's with 74% completion rate.

He will not always do this, Barker is obviously not replacing him, he will need to work through inconsistencies.

Defense was bad in spurts and great in others.

Stoops and Dawson need time too, questionable stuff.


We are making strides this season. These comeback wins, overcoming turnovers, holding UF to 14,...
these are all stepping stones to building a consistent program.

We are still at least a year away from expecting so much consistency, even then we will have bad games (see LSU tonight).


I was hoping for a bowl this season and looking for improvement. I know we all have different expectations, but after the last few years you guys know we will have growing pains. This would have been a horrible loss, but it wasn't. I never dreamed EKU would give us this game but I am overall pleased at this point as a whole.

All we can do is try to build on it. Play like this next game and we get beat by 50. Let's see what team shows up.

i think our team took EKU to lightly (i don't see that happening again) and that allowed them to gain confidence
in the second half our D lost confidence and regained it when we needed them the most
this game was a teaching tool, the icing on the cake is we won
this team showed a lot of heart with the comeback victory

Stop trying to put lipstick on a pig. This EKU team is beyond pathetic. How anyone could take something positive from this game is beyond me. It is nothing to be proud of.

For those of us that actually played and coached sports we know you will have games like these. Like Coach Cal says, these will come every year, get the W and take it.

Why can you and so many others NOT find any positives here?

How is it that you are not aware of the phrase "hollow victory?"
 
It is not unrealistic to expect our SEC team to easily handle or even roll a team from a team like Eastern. They lost to NC State 0-35. If you cannot beat the young little girl down the street there is a problem and unrealistic expectations is not the problem.

I agree with most of your post, but...... I don't agree with your comment about the coaches (they should no how to coach at this point) and I also think the days of sqeaking out an OT victory over a team like EKU should be over. Yes I think it's too early to expect SEC championships but we should be past the days of mediocrity against teams we're favored to beat by roughly 28 points.

Yes and many good teams have scares, hell many good teams are upset - that is why they have a name for it.

If you know sports you know that you have bad games.

People that complain about everything, including post game interviews and see zero positives are either trolls, stupid, or just horrible little people that need to be smacked around.

The team, like the fans, over looked and didn't respect EKU. This is what happens when you do that. Get some perspective. It will do you some good.

Maybe they should, but they are still having issues. Dawson is a 1st year guy. Stoops is still learning on the job. They can only get better with experience, right?

I don't hate PT, he is what he is. Stoops is the one I have a problem with. But keep using those straw men (you might want to look that up), they make you look like an imbecile.

I dont disagree with that, but some are going overboard. You are absolutely correct, we have lots to work on, we are not there yet by any means.

Yep, but it wasn't. We almost lost to Princeton in the first round of the tourney in 2011, but we didn't. Finished up pretty well there brother.

head not buried..thought i had a clever reply. cant imagine any UK football fan that is happy with the first 53 minutes of the game. yes coach stoops has flaws, all coaches do. the halftime adjustments are an issue that are very real to me as well.

PT answered the bell when the team needed it most, or shall I say Baker really stepped up again & made plays. UK and Towles have got to stop coming out so timid & trust the playmakers at the beginning of the game like they did when the game was on the line. Throw the ball down the field. More tempo if you plan on throwing screen plays for every other play.

I think so... and I hope so. Your posts are usually solid IMO and I'm with you on most of your comments. I have to put the coaches on shorter leashes than the players though. They're grown men with experience and this isn't their first rodeo. Peace.

He had a couple of great catches, but again the facts...

PT completed passes to Horton, Kemp, Montgomery, Bone (3) AND Baker (3) the last 2 4th quarter TD drives.
