Raymond Cottrell to the transfer portal

Not ideal but hard to get too sad over a kid who was here for four months.

Kids are such puzzys these days. A little competition is a lot too much work for these soft azz kids. Good riddance.

This kid was committed to UGA out of HS, was set to sign with us in spite of FSU and Miami trying to flip him for months. Then a week before early signing day he tells the staff he wants to be an EE. Only problem was we had no more room for another EE. So he signs with ATM, there less than a year, transfers to UK and less than 4 months later moving again. Kid has some potential but sure looks like someone is giving him some bad advice. Or maybe he thinks he should be rocketing to top of depth charts.

Best of luck on future endeavors

Any schools NIL operation that promised to pay him a bunch of money would be pretty incompetent. Barely played at a&m. Didn't challenge for 1st string at UK spring practices.

Hey if he & his handlers secured a bag somewhere else props to them for playing this broken system

All you can do is shake your head, kid seems mixed up or confused about where he wants to be. With his history of moving around, he might have trouble finding a place to play and be happy. I'd be Leery of him, how could you count on him after all this.

Really isn't a high demand for portal wide recievers who have never played a snap of college football

When it comes to the portal former high school ranking from recruiting services are thrown out the window. Coaches want guys who have actual CFB tape. Have proven they can actually play on this level.

I am not sure if its Cottrell going to UConn but doesn't appear to be. But whoever is helping him with his career decisions is doing a very good job. He was committed to UF and flipped to UGA, then a week before Dec signing day decides he wants to be an EE. UGA didn't have an opening for another EE, so he flips again to ATM, things didn't go as planned so he enters the portal and ends up at UK, Only to hit the portal again 3 months later. Now he is visiting ASU, a program kids are scrambling to leave. Just seems like he has a history of snap decisions without looking at depth charts, schemes or anything that would affect his playing time.
