Quite a few posters who supported Cal and criticized the ones who had seen enough several years ago..

Some of them are eternal optimists, and that's ok. But some are Cal first fans, not actually even Kentucky fans anymore. I saw the same thing happen to some IU fans at the end with Bobby Knight. They elevated a coach over the program. Same thing has/is happening with some Cal fans.
everyone has their tolerance level, and when they hit it, for some, everyone before them was wrong and only *now*, in these circumstances, is the right time to be concerned
The “bleed blue” fans are pretty much done with Cal.
The casual Kentuckian that claims to be a big fan, but really isn’t, these are the ones that still say “Cal is great for the state, a real humanitarian” blah blah blah.
Real fans know he’s washed as far as actual coaching.

I kind of understand it because I LOVED Tubby Smith. I grew up with him as my coach. I went to his basketball camp as a kid. But when it was time to go, it was time to go.
They’ll be back. As soon as Cal gets a decent win they will be on here thumping their chests and telling everyone they’re stupid. It’s a never ending cycle. You can point out any of the historical bad games and they will ignore that to point out a win over a mediocre basketball team. Look how much they bragged about beating a shitty Arkansas team.
This. I still love Tubby. But it was time to go. That time has come for Cal.
