Quickley announcing tomorrow his commitment

Quickley picking UK will have a negative impact for you guys on Grimes. Grimes is wanting to be a combo guard and start at the 1 or 2 in college. With Green, Alexander, and Quickley UK can't pitch one of the starting guard spots to him while KU is pitching the combo guard spot and Marquette is pitching the starting PG spot.

No offense to you, but if that is the case, so be it. You can not take a commitment from a talent like this. Grimes will probably still have a chance to join Kentucky's roster. If he decides to look elsewhere after this, it will turn out to be more of a loss to him than to Cal and Kentucky. I don't care what the golden eagles are offering, if you turn down Cal and go play there, you probably aint thinking too clearly about your basketball future. Don't bring up Wade. If Wade like talent came around every year, it might not be such a risk. It doesn't. If the kid picks Kentucky and Cal still offers this dude, i will feel confident Grimes knew about this happening before any of us knew.

There's a fairly good chance one of Green/Alexander goes pro, Shai more likely. Honestly, I'll take whoever wants it first, Quickley or Grimes, even with the chance of the other one being better. And continuing on this notion of one or the other... I want the prototypical Calipari PG over a SG. We'll have Barrett and/or Zion who will be our offense in their own way, plus a loaded front court.

Unless they're Wall, Knight, or Fox level you've had more small guard returns for their sophomores and junior years than not. Bledsoe I believe is the only none top 10 "small guard" to go pro after their freshman year.
What guard outside of 3 star Hawkins have we had return for their Junior year? "Small Guards" you can add to your list of one and done are, Goodwin, Murray, and Monk. The only "small guards" that have returned for their Sophomore years would be Ulis (because he is 5'7), Lamb (NBA lockout), and Briscoe. So what you are alluding to isn't factually accurate.

I believe he has a visit somewhere else (maybe Duke) next weekend. Different breed or not, dude ain't publicly committing to UK this weekend. Would be amazing, but use logic here.

He's hyped as hell. ESPN is gonna beg to air his announcement. If he wants to pick UK, I'm sure Cal would help him get some air time if he wants it.

Word is Cal isn't worried about his air time. He wants him to commit with Quick. Glad I could pass this along.

I think calipari had it set up for Quickley to announce once Zion arrives. I hope the package deal happens along with RJ
