Anyone have experience purchasing the student tickets for holiday break games at the counter on the morning of games?

I have heard there are a significant number available and they are first come, first serve for $5 each. I would like to take my son and several friends from his Middke School team to one of these games. Driving down early, getting in line, and buying everyone Eruption zone tickets for $5 sounds great. Getting there with 6 middle school boys and not being able to get tickets and then fall back to trying to scalp 7 or 8 tickets does not sound good.

Any advice or help is appreciated. Thanks

I'm usually wrong, but I believe you have to be a UK student, with ID, not just ANY student. Seems to me that if you want the same deal, you'd better be prepared to pay tuition plus the athletic fees.

I have about ten 50 year old 'students' who I could take to Lexington for 5 dollar tickets. They are juniors at Denhunter Scalping College...

You are wrong. Over the holidays they release tickets to the public since the students are gone and they don't want empty stands (for the cupcake opponents, so the Louisville game isn't happening).

To the OP, get there early in the morning and you'll be ok.

Are there any games even over Xmas break that are cupcakes? Arizona State at home on 12/12 (Not sure if UK is out yet or not by that point), then UL on 12/26...and that is it (neutral game against OSU in NYC sandwiched in between on 12/19).

That's a good point. There may not be any such games this year.

And these tickets are 5 bucks? Hell, shove those brats outta the way...

They are, but as another poster pointed out, with the way the schedule is set up this year, there may not be any games where these are available.

If they release the tickets, to the public, ask the ticket office, but I do not believe that you need a student ID. Any other games, student tickets must be accompanied by a student ID, or you cannot gain admission.
