QUADE GREEN...slow your roll a bit.

You just dont say that coming in

You're stupid. Very stupid.

I like for my players to have confidence in their abilities. He didn't say "Yeah, they all sucked at shooting, and I'm gonna be awesome. Probably the best ever" which is what many here would have probably thought based on this OP, but you're acting like a little b*tch over our future point guard being confident in himself.

Suck it up. This is why you get hammered by this board regularly.

Not the best choice of words, but the kid is what, 17? Give him a break.

The meat of his statement, generally speaking, is true. He certainly isn't wrong.

Perhaps it would have been better to say: "Cal's previous point guards were all tremendous players. Except for Tyler, they were all taller than I am coming in, but none of them were really known for their shooting. I hope I can be among the first to create that identity for myself".

There. I said basically the same thing he did, just cleaned up the wording. The kid is young, cut him some slack.

yep, thank you for proving my point.

You guys might want to temper your expectations for shooting ability from our PGs just a smidge. Brandon Knight was a good shooter, stacking up reasonably well against our two recent STAR shooting guards. LOL SMH
Knight 46% / 38% / 80%
Monk 45% / 40% / 82%
Murray 45% / 42% / 77%

1. Not my expectation.
2. Just because you compare to other UK player doesn't say anything.
3. Good shooter. Sure, i would accept that. There is a difference between great and good.
4. so...knight was worst of those 3 at shooting three...
5. At some point you have to draw the line of great and good. Jon Scott has a top 3pt FG% for a season. He has anyone above 40. That's random #, but at least he differentiate it. You seem to think anyone can join that list.

I'll give you an easy answer on GREAT shooter... Lamb. GREAT Shooter. Miller and Willis both had a great season shooting also. There are more than one way to measure shooting than %, but Knight was way too streaky to be called great. Same can be said of Monk. I think Murray was great shooter. The way he finished the season was sensational. YOu can see that 42% three point FG is legit, considering he started slow.

Would be great to have a PG who could spread the floor with his shooting ability for a change. We've had some great PGs but we've lacked anyone with shooting consistency other than Knight, and Ulis.

This thread is beginning to bring out a fact that, IMHO, has been overlooked for much too long, and that is -- Brandon Knight may be the best PG we've had during the Calipari era, and if not "the best", he is certainly in the top 2 or 3. As far as I'm concerned, Wall and Fox are the only others in the same class with Brandon Knight -- and it's not a lay-down for me as to which of those is the best among the three.

46/38/80 is very good, especially @ knight's volume

glad to have a philly guard headed to uk but he was not the best pg in the catholic league this year. colin gillispie outplayed him twice, and wood beat neumann twice

wall, ulis and fox were all better than him

you are wrong

Playing UNC, KU, UofL and UCLA within a matter of weeks is a lot different than playing the highschool down the road where no kid will make it past D3.

Everyone who makes it to D1 was a star in their highschool.. Competition ramps up drastically.. No problem with confidence, though..

I just want to know how kwilt and umm both keep up their insane thread-starting rate.

They both have so many thoughts that are worth starting entirely new threads. It blows my mind.
