Its fine to want to be best point to ever play here...but dont say others couldnt shoot...slow down

From what I've seen/read, he's not much of a shooter himself. His shot looked passable in the practices yesterday, but certainly not anything to brag about.

Nothing wrong with that quote. Most of Cal's PG's have been taller and non-shooters. Green hopes he will be a better, more consistent shooter. I'd be worried if he didn't feel that way.

I'm assuming OP pulled this from the post at KSR. Most of the quotes were from future teammates about how much of a leader he is and how he gets everyone involved.

I'm 100% OK with that quote. Most of our PG's under Cal weren't known for their outside shot, rather size, athletic ability, or court leadership (the latter being what is most desired in PGs). Wall, Teague, Andrew Harrison, Briscoe, and Fox would agree with this.

I am shocked, SHOCKED, that the OP would find issue with this and highlight it with a new thread on this board.

Nothing wrong with his quote at all................

and OMG UMM...... were you having a schizo attack while writing that post?

He is acting like we had a great shooting PG. To be honest...the competition is rather weak.

John Wall: 32.5%
Brandon Knight: 37.7%
Marquis Teague: 32.5%
Ryan Harrow: 29.6%
Andrew Harrison: 35.1%
Andrew Harrison: 38.3%
Tyler Ulis: 34.4%
DeAaron Fox: 24.6%

These are leading 3 pt FG%.

0 at above 40%.

You might want to check where you got your info on Green's shooting. He is more than a capable shooter from three. He will average over 35% from three in my opinion

“Except for Tyler (Ulis), everybody was 6’3″ and over and couldn’t shoot really. I hope I’m going to be the first guard really that Cal ever got that can really shoot the ball consistently.”

The other part is he was probably asked to compare himself to the others.

Saying he hopes he will be a more consistent shooter isn't exactly guaranteeing he will win NPOY.

Not the most PC or tactful thing to say, but he's a kid. Gonna make mistakes. Not going to crucify him over it.

There is always that one guy.

As for the comment--- no big deal. He is a kid who clumsily tried to talk about what he hopes to bring to uk.

Id say closer to 40%..I dont think he will take a lot, but he can shoot..I look for him to be a big ast man

What did he say that was untrue?

John Wall, Marquis Teague, Andrew Harrison, De'Aaron Fox...all of those guys were not great perimeter shooters.

Green said most of Cals point guards, minus Ulis, were bigger and couldn't shoot very well. Said he hoped to come in and be known as a consistently good shooter
I see absolutely nothing wrong with this statement, its true outside of Brandon Knight.

How dare he have faith in himself!! I want a pg that thinks he sucks. That's the kind We need to win championships!!

I like the way he talked in the interview. IF you read the all of the article he wants to be the guard that everyone wants to be compared to. Nothing wrong with that.
