Pump the brakes on Dillingham playing next year

Dillingham is the type of guard that does really well in the tourney. Kid has some serious speed. I was hoping to get him on campus.
This is why we can't have good things at Kentucky anymore.

Cal never meets the hype anymore. This class was the only thing left to look forward to, and now it's possible it implodes.

Get rid of Calipari. I'm so tired of this monstrosity of a coach.

I'm less concerned about Dillingham than I am about what happens if Reeves isn't here next year and Shep can't play defense to suit Calipari. Could be the worst shooting team in UK's history.

I enjoy Rob Dillingham as he’s fun to watch. He also is a very “cool” prospect which we definitely need. BUT and this is not revisionist history, there are reasons he isn’t an elite prospect. IMO he had a disappointing year at OTE. He shot 34% from 2 and 32% from 3. That lack of efficiency has been consistent through his prep career since I’ve been following. He does have monster spectacular games that get all the highlights. But just think about that. Those crazy highlights you’ve seen with all those tough makes and great finishes still to be having those shooting numbers. He also has a very slight frame that hasn’t really changed over the years.

Rob is more valuable to the program as the person/hype than he is player especially factoring in how much easier it is to replace guards in the portal than it is to find a 4 man for instance.
He was described to me by my nephew who coaches against him that he's an Iverson style player without the Iverson talent level.

I have learned over my life time to not pay attention to rumors .
Well, in fairness to the skeptics, the negative rumors surrounding UK have more often than not proven to be true.

1. Sharpe not playing.
2. Wheeler being pissed about playing time.
3. Whitney unhappy.
4. Hagans disgruntled.
5. Juzang homesick.
6. Fletcher pissed off.
7. Vanderbilt shutting it down.
8. DJ Jeffries unhappy at UK recruiting other small forwards.
9. Jai Lucas jumping ship.
10. Brooks ready to move on.

I don't have not heard that Wheeler is pissed about playing time is true. Some of other you mentioned did we not know until it happen ?

Might need to target this guy:

The best player in the transfer portal will be Princeton's Tosan Evbuomwan. Has another year to play but the Ivy doesn't allow fifth-year seniors. Averages 15 and 6 and led the league in assists. Good enough to start on any team in the country next season. - Seth Davis
Get him Cal. He plays tonight.

People should have known better than to think next year's class would be a success even if all of them showed up. I'm still not sold on Wagner as a star. Dillingham is OK. Shepherd won't get a chance to show anything anyway. Bradshaw will struggle with physical play. Now Edward's, yeah he's different. He's a player. But Cal will have no idea how to best use him.

JV didn’t shut it down. He was hurt.

He played one leg as much as he could.

Most of the other things were good things.

Wonder if these rumors about Dillingham is the bad news KSR was eluding to the other day.
Yes yes yes this is pretty plain as day. If folks who know say a guy isn’t gonna make it, play, comeback, etc well at uk there’s no hoping for the opposite. This stuff has been out there and is more than rumor at this point. The situation was sketchy to begin with

Remember the football team still plays in the sec so what you will see from them is average fb against top tier opponents. Stoops has some similar problems brewing with decomits, transfers, kicking players out
With football though, I know the coach will atleast try to change and will admit when he is wrong. Also a 8-4 or 9-3 for football is good

If he doesn't show up Cal MUST get a PG out the portal that is can actually shoot and guard water bug PG's, no way I wanna see Wagner trying to guard these little PG's next year.
You have to have someone who can stay in front of them out top or somebody on the backside to challenge everything at the rim. Having both = lockdown defense; having neither means first weekend exit

Ugonna might transfer, Livingston is probably transferring those rumors are now getting louder and louder, dillingham may not play here. Top that off with a terrible 3 year stretch, Kentucky basketball is might be fully cooked
Ugonna just said he was going to stay and was excited about next year. Nothing about Livingston here other than you stirring the pot.

So we only end up with two top 30 freshman guards instead of three...plus we may get Reeves back and see Thiero play 3-guard or small forward.

He did say that. And I’m sure he meant it. Unfortunately, according to Pilgrim, this decision will not be completely up to him. Apparently has some sponsors who can dictate things. If we can’t match or makeup what he either lost or can get, the thought it that he will end up in the Big East next season. Just putting two and two together, sounds like his leeches will need to see the money, and being sponsor for him here, they have some control.

Jack Pilgrim. His handlers say they were lied about NIL not received.
Two days ago Pilgram wrote an article saying Ugo was a lock to come back and was talking about his goals at Kentucky. A lot of the people stirring up this stuff are the same ones who said "Cason Wallace will not play another game" after he got hurt. 🤡 🤡 🤡

Cow needs to focus on a 3 pg lineup like when Maxey, Quick and Ashton played together. That is about the best the offense has looked in a long while and helps Cow's horrible offense. So no Dilly would be devastating. We need 4 solid options at point with 3 out there together. 2 minimum.

Plus all the injuries Cow's teams have every year I mean at ARK we played without a freakin pg.

I'm not talking about guys who can kind of fill in at point like CJ and Reeves I mean we need 3-4 pgs on the roster and sell them on playing together 3 at a time. That Quickly team 3 guard lineup caused issues for opposing teams. I remember that ruckus crowd at TT when our backcourt finished the game off for the win.

Remember when Cow said he was changing to 4 out 1 in and defenses would struggle against 4 shooters? That would be a move in the right direction if today's game. However Cow is always going to choose length and athletes first and want size out there over shooters.

I never said Wallace wouldn’t play again, nobody is stirring up anything, we are literally just telling everybody what we see and some on here take that as a attack on their beloved cal for some damn reason

On a cfb level it’s there with losing in the sec rd of ncaa tournamenr

Then why did they both commit here? Nice take
Anybody can “commit”, it’s who shows up to play that matters. Here’s another nice take…

I don’t think Calipari is going to be around to see these guys at UK anyway. When Texas names their next HC, and it’s not JVC, then we can speculate.

1. I never said you said anything.
2. I do not have a love affair with Cal
3. Your quote that "nobody is stirring up anything" is laughable. Most of the post are on here to do that very thing.

There may be some that do that, but most like myself are just posting what we see. I used your post to point out the cal lovers, and what they do. The people stirring the pot I don’t think would do it with transfer stuff

We already stirred up over here.

Way before these rumors started.

So you believe that a high school kid committed to a school that has another guard he doesn't want to play with. This kid also has no intention to actually go to school to play, but he committed to a school because....smh. I don't care if Cal goes to Texas or not but I don't think that is something thats even a remote possibility. It doesn't make sense from either side. I could be wrong but I just dont see it.
