When u just give a 18, 19 yr old kid a large lump sum of money, you get kids with zero work ethic.

Well usc, ole miss, Vandy had a good season, UL has been good two seasons…so why csn teams at our level not fall apart but Stoops seemingly does?
No offense, but that argument doesn't hold water. If that was the case, every talented team would suck all the time and national champions would basically luck into the title. Tulane has half the talent we do and they have NIL just like everyone else. Oregon and Texas have NIL that would make ours look like setting a kid loose in a five and dime with a quarter and yet they're among the best teams in the country.
Stoops and his coaches have done a HORRIBLE job evaluating the transfers they have brought in over the past 3 seasons. Outside or Dumas-Johnson, who has really been a difference maker????
And what is up with the Ohio St. kids???? They get hurt and RARELY give us anything!!
And why can't our young players contribute like they did during Stoops early years????
Seems like the development phase of our program has been sub-par also these past few seasons. That makes for a BAD combo and is the reason our program is where it is today.
Stoops has really messed this up and he NOW knows it!! But is he capable of fixing it???? We shall see because he's not going anywhere with what Mitch is paying him.

They just can't coach ball. All there is to it. Rich Brooks would have likely been in the playoff with the talent we had on this team.
Every team in America is playing with NIL and handing 18 and 19 year old kids a lump sum of money. No excuse that 12 other teams can make it work and make the playoffs and the ninth highest paid coach in America finishes 4-7.
Everyone is getting paid. We’ve just done a bad job of evaluating players in the portal. From a talent and a character standpoint. More importantly we’ve done a bad job of developing that with our highschool guys too. Colorado,Indiana, vandy and a host of others had a ton of transfers and have players getting paid. They don’t seem to have these issues
And he pays them to come here and then there is no motivation for these kids. If we had signed the Ohio st RB out of high school or Mincey out of hs, we all would be raving about stoops and how he can recruit.
Just win , no cry baby stuff about NIL or blah blah blah . We have a small fortune invested .. just win . If he cant , get someone who will .. this " he is the best we can do " is damn weak . Makes me want to vomit . Clock management .. that Stoops fault ? Dull unimaginative offense .. that Stoops ? We have no punter ... Stoops ? We commit to a jet sweep offense featuring BB for 3 games then forget about it .. that Stoops ? we interchange. QBs like its actually a good idea .. that Stoops ? Yep. Game has changed. Will change more real soon. If you can't adapt you have to find something else to do....or if you've been money smart buy a boat and go fishing.
Nick Saban would NOT be in the playoff if he were here wih our current talent. If you don't have a really good QB, you are not getting into the playoff. It certainly is the coaches fault that our roster is not very talented. Sorry just a fact. It will be a two plus year overhaul of our roster to get back to 6 -6 or 7 - 5 team. Currently, no proven QB, wide receivers for 2025 are weak, OL is a mess, and DL losing to NFL & graduation. We are hurting next season. I'm sure some will fall for the blue koolaid drinking fools that will be on our board pumping out the crap that we will boat race FL, GA, TN and go 10 -2 and make the playoff. It happens every year.
Oh, that's weird...they seem to play hard at literally every other SEC school.
The point is dumb anyway...are you saying you don't work hard at your job bc they give you money?
NIL with players first easily leads to this yes. Coaches that make the kids get their act together or else its off the team they go with no more paychecks tend to be doing a lot better.

Some of my UL fan friends believe they had playoff caliber teams the past two years. It must be disappointing to believe that your team is playoff caliber with an ACC schedule and yet your team falls short. This year finishing unranked and fifth in the ACC. I believe a couple of UL’s losses were coaching, but maybe NIL also played a role. Or, maybe my friends are just wrong (my guess).
Their second year coach just beat our SEC cellar dwelling team like a drum on our home turf. Schedule, conference, or whatever can't be used when you lose to an ACC team in a blowout. We put a bad product on the field this year.
