Probably best for all parties that Levis not play in weed-eater bowl

He is a paid employee and should show up for work. In previous years I wouldn't have liked it but would have understood it. Now that he's a millionaire, he can do his job.
I can understand that if we were playing in a bigger bowl, but how does him playing benefit UK? Our focus should 100% be on next year and he won’t be here. Same thing with other positions. Let the seniors see a little action but throw the other guys in that haven't gotten much run this year to see what they got. Again, a Libert Bowl victory just isn’t important at this point.

We never play in a bigger bowl. 0 new years 6 Bowls for Stoops. This glorified exhibition is as worthy of playing as last year's.

Sorry, but we have to start thinking like a football school. My goal is not winning 8, it’s winning 10+. The folks that think this is a bad take will be complaining next year that Stoops never played his backups in 2022. Can’t have it both ways. But to each his own.

Labron is a paid employee also. How many games does he take off?

Do you leave work every day beaten up?
He played yesterday. He can play a month from now. I work in accounting. I can tell you exactly what my boss will say if I request close week off. It wouldn't happen and if I even want a single day off it better be good. It's part of having a job.
And spare me the he's being paid for endorsements crap. That's the technicality of all technicalities. People are paying him to play football.

You ever get hand cramps jotting down all them numbers? Kudos to you for working through it.

A bowl game isn't close week equivalent though. It's a glorified exhibition liken to taking a week off in the middle of the month in accounting or payroll on a non processing week (I work in payroll).

How about because he is part of a team and not playing would mean he quit on his teammates

With our OL probably not a bad idea to sit out but part of me thinks Levis wants some good highlights for that draft profile

Will, has played through 3 different enjuries. He popped his dislocated finger back into place during a game and finished the game. When asked about his injured shoulder he said "its not my throwing shoulder so who cares. I don't think anyone should be questioning his dedication if he he skips a low level bowl game. I want to get that 8th win for optics. It just looks better for recruiting. I also want the backups to get playing time, since Will won't be here next year.

The two concepts aren’t mutually exclusive. I want my football team to win every game it plays. My goal can be 10 wins, but it doesn’t mean I should just stop being a fan because the goal is unattainable now.

I see this sentiment come from more people than just you, but it’s bizarre to me. That way of thinking honestly is just a miserable attitude in my opinion. Sports at the end of the day are supposed to be fun. UK has won just 12 bowl games in its history, and I’ve enjoyed every win I’ve witnessed just as any fan should. None have felt meaningless to me.

In any event, any bowl game is still an overall net positive even if it comes on the heels of a disappointing season. It gives younger guys a chance to develop, 60 more minutes of game tape the coaches can utilize, and it’s just plain fun when UK plays a non-SEC team that isn’t Louisville or some other garbage team like Central Michigan. Not meaningless at all.

I guess Kaiya better sit too because if he plays and gets hurt, our 2023 season may be in jeopardy. Oh no!
Umm Kaiya doesn't and never will have millions of dollars on the line. And he'll be a sophomore and not a senior, goober. Are you really this dumb?

Who’s the last player that was projected to be a first round draft pick but got hurt in a bowl game ?

Jaylon Smith just off the top of my head. Like I said, sadly for you it's not 1955 anymore.

As long as he is on scholarship to play FB, he should play FB games with his teammates unless injuries preclude his participation.

GBB!
Exactly, exactly right! When a player gets a scholarship, I assume that the coach is then in charge of games you play and games you don't. As far as worried about injuries prior to the NFL, that can be said for every game you play. Is there some magical formula that says if you make it close to the end of the year without injury, you get to choose which game or games you don't want to participate in, to cut down your injury chances? What if a player decided not to play in the last 2 or 3 games?
I know that some think the bowl game is not very important in the grand scheme of things, but we talk about our record the next year and years to com, and the total number of wins and losses include the bowl game.
