Please keep these folks in your prayers and thoughts.

With the loss of life, missing people and homes just wiped away the anguish and misery has got to be unbearable.

I'm a Johnson County guy, born and raised.

Thank you

Flooding is horrible there. Two dead so far. Still others missing. My wife is from Johnson County and all of her family is still there.

Why are those people living so close to a little river?
Does it never flood at all ever or is their a levee? I hope the missing is found safe.

Having grown up in Pike County, I can say it is probay a small creek 98% of the time and only looks like a "little river" right now because the water levels are still high. They more than likely weren't living right on the creek bank either. All the runoff off the mountains is what makes flash floods so dangerous. It more than likely swept the trailers from their original places and that picture is just where everything settled.

Plus, the ground is already heavily saturated in most areas of central and eastern KY. Nowhere for additional rainfall to go. Compounds the problem. Very sad.
