MARK STOOPS OFFICIAL POSTGAME Q&A:

******

MARK STOOPS UK RADIO NETWORK Q&A:

* Really good effort. Couldn't be more proud of them for fighting thru our personnel issues. We're down 10 or 11 starters. It felt a little bit like the Covid year in getting ready for this game. Still prepared well, despite the numbers. Came into a tough situation tonight and fought hard.

* The pick on the drive to go down and possibly take the lead really hurt. Thought he'd run it and get 4-5 yards, then go for it on 4th if we needed to. We already decided it was a four-down situation. Wish he had run the draw, but he thought he had the stick there. Gavin did some good things, though, and got us within 3 at one point.

* Felt like we had a really good play call on the bad snap. It was there. That hurts when you think you have something and can't get a snap executed.

* Late in the game, we had a chance to get off the field 3rd and 7, hold them to a FG and a 7-point game, but we had an inexperienced corner playing with one arm and giving too much cushion. Just inexperience there.

* Declines to comment on BVG's injury. Not sure yet what the extent is. But thought he did some really good things before that happened. Just did a nice job of moving the ball and keeping them off-balance today. Thought he showed some growth today.

* Really good to see Jamarion Wilcox run well against that defense. Set the tone for us early and gave our guys some hope. To get 100 yards against that defense is really good. We need to build on that.

* Pop Dumas-Johnson really laid it on the line and played hard.

* The outcome is not what we wanted, but to me, it's important how you prepare and play and fight against a really good opponent.
