Post Game Quote from Buzz I found interesting

I don't think it Cal had any influence on that remark.

Pope is a players coach. Builds relationships with his players off and on the court. Wants to know the young man not just the player.

Pope reinforces the positives with his guys.. Doesn't focus on the negatives or what just happened as much as. ok, now what do we have to do.

He takes all the blame if things don't go as planned. The players look at Pope like a Coach, Friend, Someone they can trust,

Players today don't care what you know as a coach, until they know you care about them.

Pope is a cutting edge coach with a brilliant offensive mind and a genuine spirit. The problem is that the NBA will see this and come knocking.

I really don't think Pope would leave this job for any other, especially a pro job where you're doing more babysitting egos than teaching basketball. Pope loves the teaching aspect.

He also legitimately believes "this place" as he calls it changed his life forever and seems like the kind of guy who wants to pay it forward.

I think this is his dream job. We are very lucky. I understand the concern you have. I think at this point we all probably feel like it is too good to be true and something will end it. But I think Pope is ours for a good while.

I would be TOTALLY shocked to ever see Pope leave. To me the only way he ever leave is that he is not producing. Once Rick Pitino would be in his ear about leaving Camelot. But I don't think he would even need RP's opinion. It is very refreshing to say that we are set at coach for quite some time.

Outside of Pope already having his dream job, he's also making as much as the 17th highest paid coach in the NBA and his salary only goes up from here.

I think Pope is here as long as he is welcome. That’s forever in my book. His pay will only go up. He’ll make as much here as anywhere or more. I think he genuinely loves it here. That’s hard for somebody else to convince him otherwise.
