* Massive win for the Cats over the Vols at Rocky Top playing without Butler and Carr to break a 2-game losing streak.

* All 5 of the Cats starters score in double figures. Williams with 10 pts and 15 rbs was huge, he’s frustrating at times, but he is productive. Robinson got us going to start the game and Oweh finished it off. Almonor and Brea were 7-10 from the 3pt line along the way.

* Cats were 12-24 from the 3pt line, Vols were 11-45 …that’s crazy. Fortunately the Vols couldn’t make ‘em tonight … but the Vols had 19 offensive rebounds leading to a massive 22 more FG attempts than the Cats … yet we somehow found a way to win. Couple that with 13 TOs to only 5 for Tenn. …and we were 16-24 from the FT line …. we won because the Vols missed shots and we made our 3’s. That was the difference.

* Cats gave up a 11-0 run to finish the 1st half, a facet that we need to fix, but, we started great in the 2nd half and moved out by 11 on a Noah made 3 with 12:25 to play and held on from there. It wasn’t a pretty finish, it was an agonizing 5 to 5 the last 3:44 of the game …

* Up Next: Cats take on Arkansas in Rupp on Saturday night. We need Butler and Carr to be healthy and ready to go. Hogs have talent, and will be motivated, especially the former UK players, Cats need to get out to a lead, take away their heart, and finish them off … must protect the home court.
