* Tough loss for the Cats. It was a defensive battle … but, at the end of the day … it’s still a loss. Great atmosphere in the stadium …. needed to win that one.

* Turnovers - or lack thereof - loomed very large tonight. UGA had 63 yards of offense and 3 first downs in the first half … yet UGA gets 3 points at the half because our offense commits a really bad fumble on our own side of the field leading to a gift FG for UGA. That play turned out to be a key play of the game. On the other side, the Cats couldn’t get a turnover … had our hands on a couple of potential INTs and couldn’t recover any of the various UGA’s fumbles. The Cats just couldn’t get a bounce to go their way.

* Lot of significant calls, non-calls, decisions tonight. Way too much to get into tonight …

* The Cats final legitimate drive … thought we may have abandoned the run that led to the 4th and 7 decision to punt. You can argue that we should have went for it, you can argue that we should have punted and have the defense get the ball back. Tough to give the ball back to UGA there. That said, for me, the error was before that when we abandoned the run when the time and situation was 4 down territory if 4th down is a reasonable distance. In a game where the team that makes the mistakes loses, critical decisions.

* Related to the above point, the UGA defense is really good … as the Cats would drive the field and cross into UGA territory, UGA would go from rushing 4 to rushing 5 and also bringing a LB … and we just couldn’t convert against their pressure.

* UGA made some offensive adjustments in the 2nd half … did some more mis-direction and plays against the flow of the UK defense.

* Our FG kicker …. great performance by that young man. As much as I appreciate our FG kicker … Cats offense has to find a way to score some touchdowns. Cats had the ball 10+ minutes for the game … just couldn’t score any TDs against that UGA defense.

* Up Next: Cats against Ohio next week. It’s a must win. This new SEC schedule - for everybody - is crazy tough.
