From reading this kid had offers from every p5 school in the country and rated 3rd best(?) Qb so there's that. The flip side is Arch Manning and the next "it". He supposedly received millions in nil to go to Texas. He may very be entertaining going into the portal. Nobody knows.

Point made but if you are sitting behind a player for two years and probably don't get 1st team reps then are actually being developed? You have wasted those years and not been given the coaching to get better to show it someplace else.

I’m not disputing your position. I really don’t follow it closely enough to have an informed opinion. I agree it’s possible that they still could have been very good if they had gone somewhere else originally.

Do you think Stoops and staff give out QB scholarships with the intent that none of them ever turn into contributors?

I think he signs a QB each year becsuse he is expected to. Im sure he hopes he might get lucky and snag a generational talent like Tim Couch but if not,Meh Ill just Grab a servicable guy from the portal and not have to worry about it. The UK fans will be happy since he signed a Ky boy and then just bury him on the bench and NEVER play him. When he gets frustrated and leaves,then just say he wasnt as good ss wed hoped, or he didnt work hard enough. Ringe wash,repeat
