Kirby will still play Bennet. I couldn't help myself. 😂 Williams is one of the top QBs in college as a freshman. If he's UGA bound how will that effect Vandagriff? I think they were the top 2 QBs in the '21 class

I don't think Riley was ever sold on Rattler as his starting QB TBH, he pulled him pretty quick for the true freshman. Getting Williams to transfer to USC would help Riley turn the ship around pretty quickly there. Especially with how weak the PAC12 is, he would have a QB that knows his playbook and knows how to execute it from day one.
Oklahoma's QB leaving is so insane to me. Can't imagine trying to recruit in college football these days. You can never bank on any depth especially when a starting QB for Oklahoma will bounce.

Oklahoma coaching changes could be a huge part of that. Also, if there is a team that seems scared to death to go to the sec.... Its Ok. I cant believe they are coming after how everyone in that program reacted over it.
“These days” also allowed UK to bring in Will Levis, Wandale, Dare Rosenthal, Jacquez Jones.
Yeah, every school will lose some depth. But every coach is recruiting the transfer portal. And if you do it right, then you add instant impact players in positions of need.
I don't know about that, I personally can't see it happening, I am not down on Kirby, but I think his offense is 30 years out of date. But why would a QB want to transfer to UGA? Bennett is likely returning and we are feeling pretty good about Arch Manning, I just don't see Williams coming to Athens, If he does he might be our only QB
Sad thing is you would be right. But I don't think WIlliams will come to UGA. But back when he and Vandergriff were being recruited we led for Williams, Vandergriff was committed to OU, Williams was going to commit in a couple of weeks. Vandergriff took a visit to OU, saw how far it was from home, decommitted and then committed to us. Williams then went to OM. I just can't see Williams coming to Athens, I know Bennett gets made fun of and not given much credit, but he has had a good year, Stat wise Kirby held him back and he has had some talented guys to throw to, but he did make those throws, he has picked up quite a few first downs with his legs and has us 13-1 this year. I know the defense has protected him, but we could do worse at QB than Bennett. If he hits 3-4 deep throws against Bama like he did Mich he will be a NC QB. But I sadly expect the same ultra conservative gameplan we had the first time until we get behind by 2-3 scores, too late then.
I see Williams as heading to Ole Miss.

Seems logical, but I suspect the kid also wants Venebles to actually recruit him to OU. This is the new era. If a coach leaves, the new coach better get busy first recruiting the starters back to the team, in addition to keeping the recruiting class together. One reason ND’s hire for within plan made sense.
Benching Rattler was the right move and every OU fan was crying for just that. I think he gave Rattler every opportunity to prove he should be QB1.
I cannot imagine how screwed our offense would have been without Levis and Robinson. Might as well line up CRod at QB and try the Bowden offense.
Watching Corral go down and seeing their depth, that would make sense for the kid.
It is an interesting take. Grump calls the offense antiquated and then says they lead for one of the best QBs in the class who has a bunch of smart QB advisors.

Lebby is heading to OU, Venerables is hoping they can convince him to stay. Rumor is, the huge quarterback from NAIA is leaning toward OM.
The NCAA can't be happy with the way this NIL thing is working out. See TAMU as the direction things are headed. I don't see how this doesn't ruin football. UK in an effort to try and keep up, got businesses together to form a bigger pot of money. I didn't read how the group formed, I'm only speculating there.

I just woke up and as odd as it may sound I am glad he isn't coming to Athens, He is a good player but we don't need the controversy he would bring to the QB room. We going to lose at the least 2 to the portal, Beck and I can't imagine why Daniels would stay if Bennett stays. If WIlliams had come every QB we had would have been looking to leave.
Massaging the egos of 4-5 star QBs has to be one of the most difficult jobs in College athletics.
I'm sure Ole Miss is a lure due to Manning's dad and grand dad but one would think Alabama would be high on his list given their QB success the past few years.
Yup....that is what is going to be happening behind the scenes. Many guys will use this just like regular people do to go to new job if they offer more money. Hope we are all down with this as it adds a wrinkle to recruiting....now you're own dudes will have to be re-recruited in some instances.
There was a rumor yesterday that Malik Cunningham was following Venables on Twitter. Not giving credibility to those rumors, but the domino impact of one highly regarded QB leaving a traditional power could be interesting.
Probably nothing to it . And haven’t you heard , Arch Manning cannot wait to get to Knoxville and put on that orange jersey. At least that’s what all the Tennessee fans say . lol .
It was kinda one thing happened then the next. LOL. He was scared to have 3 or 4 losses every year.
I think we could have still been very good with Beau Allen at QB. I also think other WRs could have stepped up as well... probably one of the freshman WRs would have been pushed into more snaps. However, neither option would have been as good especially the dropoff between Wandale and the next best WR.
That is to say, I don't think our offense would have been dead in the water without those two. But I sure am glad we didn't have to find out.
