I hate to say it but he is not the man. The pressure will chew him up after the tourney and into next year. I see him resigning due to knowing he can’t accomplish the mission.

It's....it's been stupid week on the internet man. Like bad take after bad take.
I missed the game but listened to the first half. We sounded NOT good but some of these takes I'm reading now are bad. I've been harping on fan perspective all season. Seems I'm not making a dent. We need some athletes. I know CMP knows we do. We play the cards that are dealt.
Trust me when I say it was a blessing an ABC truck had a fire and knocked the game off the air.
Between badly timed foul calls, us playing like complete ass with no heart, and SIX STRAIGHT TOs to start the second half (that's what really pissed me off), it was a horrible game.
Six. Straight. Turnovers. to start the second half. I don't care if we had two blind players and someone with a clubfoot, that would still be inexcusable. And yet we have vets out there. It was infuriating to watch.
It's a dumb take because it's way too early to tell, but the dude could end up being right. Anyone acting as if the Pope is trash or a God right now, are pretty ridiculous. It works both ways.
Butler sure thought his own turnover was funny. That pissed me off. There's a disconnect.
Yep no excuse for that ever. But when that debacle was over I quit even really paying attention to the game. Getting crap pushed in in half 1 and come out with that lazy crap SIX straight possessions. I think ole dude from AU got fouled for a chance for a 4 point play and I was thinking this is getting bad for my health.

Yep! Turned it off after the sixth turnover! Wife was doing something in the kitchen. I kept saying, “they turned it over again!” Over and over. She couldn’t believe it. Finally just said fvck it!
Man, I turned it off at half time, if I had seen those 6 turnovers I might have turned it off for the rest of the season.
I want a coach to look into each players eyes and say "value the damn ball. let me repeat that. value the damn ball like it's your girlfriend stuck in a Supermax prison? Value the ball like your life and your career depend on it. Don't make wish passes. Sharp passes you KNOW will land. A shot will miss, they only go in 40 or 50% of the time. But not turning the ball over is grit and desire and basketball IQ to not to turn the ball over."

But I agree, there’s a pretty good possibility of what you posted happening. I mean, he can really only get fired or resign. So there’s just two reasonably possible outcomes.
Compare Mark Pope's demeanor to this video. Maybe Mark Pope's personality will also net Kentucky a championship, but Pitino is pretty old school and he just keeps winning. The mistake was not buying out Tubby when Pitino left Boston.
He was talking about energy and focus. He said that was his fault.
Pope taking the blame is fine, most good coaches do. But on the other hand, how are you not fired up ready to play when the top ranked team is the opponent? Why aren't you motivated to perform? Plus, in this new world we live in most of you are getting paid to do so. It is March all players and coaches should be ready.
We would have had to get rid of the AD as well. It’s a shame how all of of this ended.
Pitino thought he had a golden ticket to Tim Duncan.
Since then UK has had success, but had Rick stayed, the entire country would despise us like they do Danny Hurley.
It does concern to see us not fired up to start games and this has been an issue throughout this season, idk if it’s cause guys getting paid now or the locker room or what but this isn’t the first time we’ve heard this. I know he had a short time to get a team together but still, sometimes these guys need a good butt chewing regardless of talent. I think we have to see what he does in the portal and recruiting for next season then if we are still having these discussions then definitely a red flag.
I love coach and know he loves uk and wants the best for the program, I want it to be him and hope he can take us where we all want to be again. Top 5 team all season & cutting down nets, the place where this program belongs.

The pressure is like no other but Pope will see it through. I want to win and don’t like it when my team is always changing coaches, sometimes you have to go through some rough patches before they make it their own.
Yep, judging any coach Year 1 in this sport now is stupid. Now that being said, he's got some things he's got to fix philosophy wise.
I honestly think he got shellshocked by how hard this league has been this season. It's only the hardest conference of any sport in history right now. Ya know, no biggie. But he's got to fix his rebounding philosophy and his defensive philosophy. He does that and gets a few more dudes that can ball, I think he will be fine.
We're going to have to be nice to Arby and maybe he'll let Pope come back if we butter him up.

Imagine liking a superhero that got his backside handed to him by a Bat with no powers.
It's pretty much been that way all year though. I mean the Duke/Gonzaga wins, the team came out and played a flat/uninspired sloppy Half and then made adjustments and found a way to win. But the start wasn't very crisp or like the team was ready from jump. Now Duke has a big time team/talent so understand that. Gonzaga is level beneath the team they had last year that many didn't think would make the NCAA's until they beat Cal in Rupp. So that win looks less impressive with each additional Zags loss. I still think it's a damn good win seeing it was on their turf and from what they overcame on the road.
This team's scout/prep needs to be addressed. Know it's a new experience for all of them in SEC but some of the prep is putrid. Arkansas looked like they just thought they'd win because they are Kentucky because nobody with any honesty would claim they scouted the Hogs team. Fans were furious (rightfully so) that ex Cats were allowed to do everything they do well and not forced to beat them with their weakpoints.
i may be wrong but it appears this team is very emotional and a tight bunch. If they heard before the game that Jaxson Robinson will not play another day for UK that is a real downer no matter who your playing.
This is one of the most idiotic things I’ve ever read on this message board. That is really saying something. Not sure if you actually meant this or if you were just going for reactions?
It is too early to tell. The reality is that UK’s current roster is just not that talented. It was never more than a nice collection of role players. On the other hand, Pope certainly hasn’t pulled off any sort of miracle with this team. 19-10 is probably about what they should but it’s not really any better than they should be. Pope was a risk. Perhaps a calculated risk that was worth taking but still a risk. And we just don’t know yet whether or not it will pay off.
