I don't see how anyone could say Pope is anything other than an excellent coach. He has led this team to 2 top 10 wins now, wins over Duke and Gonzaga. Those 2 teams will likely finish the season as #1 seeds. Do you realize that this sams Gonzaga team slaughtered Baylor earlier this season? And this game was played in Seattle, and this UK team is brand new playing together. I saw some growth on the team in this game. The 1-3-1 defense was a significant adjustment Pope threw in there, and it changed the game. As I say, Pope has been great.

And I would remind you as well- this is not a bunch of NBA talent on this team. These guys are good college players but they're not beating guys off the dribble or winning with great athleticism. They're winning with the system and coaching.

I say you should give up the idea that Pope wasn't a good hire. He clearly was a great hire.

So how did he look like a savant against Duke? The team has regressed, that’s true. Probably too much time focused on NIL and catching fish and whatever else. He definitely needs better players though. We are very easy to defend right now.

When you make a post like this, as a genuine fan, you come back to take your medicine when you're proven wrong. I say lots of things during games when things aren't going well.
