Pope is guilty of abandoning his team today.

Just to point out a few things:
1) Oweh fumbles a rebound OOB; Aub hits a 3
2) Oweh then throws lazy ass pass that results in And-one
3) Carr called for phantom foul on 3 point flop, cost us 2 points
4) Butler called for F1, probably one of the worst calls I’ve seen this year, cost us 2 points and possession
5) SOB banks in 2 3’s
Add all that up you get 16 points. None of that is on Pope.

He can't sit there with his hands in his pockets acting like the good mormon.

He has a responsibility to fight for his team and he has absolutely failed at that. Its as bad as the turnover machine we've become. The players are rattled and that falls back on Pope.

He has to do better.

I don't blame Pope for loosing to the #1 team in the country. Our talent level does not come close to the talent Auburn has. Pope did very well to bring a team in that will win 20 ball games this year. Pope will not be held accountable imo until he has his own recruits in the system. I am proud of the team, do I expect them to win either of the tournaments coming up....NO. Am I glad we are going to make the NCAA and hope to win a game or two. Our time is a year or two out hopefully.

Previous years OP bitched that Cal would do nothing but scream and that tightened up the players. Now Pope is too easy on them.

Which one is it OP?

It’s neither. Some people want it all the ways and take the success of this basketball team personally.

Then: We don’t need a coach yelling and screaming all night. We need one who can connect with his players in this modern era.

Now: We need Bob Knight. This nice guy act wont work. Yell and scream more, and please.

Then and now: We want multiple year players, but they must also be first round picks.

Then: We don’t want five star freshman because they only care about the league and not UK.

Now: Why don’t we have any five star freshmen?

Then: Cal cares too much about defense, we need an offensive coach.

Now: Pope cares too much about offense, we need a defensive coach.

Guys looked like they were going to fall asleep in the pre-game speech. That is on Pope or we have some very unmotivated guys.
Pope doesn't put someone on Miles, or at least tell guys to put their hands up in his face. On Pope.
Guys come out flat in the first half, and Pope didn't try to send them a message with benching. On Pope.

These were things that many of us did not expect would be an issue with Mark and his staff. If none of what happens during a game, or leading up to it, has anything to do with the coaching staff then just appoint a player/captain and get rid of the coaching staff.

UK fans are embarrassing. Let’s pile on Pope while knowing we have serious injury issues. Butler and Carr are OBVIOUSLY not 100% and Robinson is prob done.

At least wait another year or two to start your whining.
It’s a sure sign of ignorance and not having a life to hate right now.

A lot of losers in this fanbase.

After listening to Coach Pope on his post-game show, he was EXTREMELY critical of his team for their defensive effort AND their pace of play. He also said he was going to BURN the tape on this one and even go home and BURN his suit!!!

Sounds like he TRIED to get his players to perform at a higher level, but they didn't respond. But he did say they will work hard to overcome today's performance.

He sounded dejected from the news about Robinson and I would imagine his team played distracted from that. NO excuses, but what this team has endured PHYSICALLY has been CRAZY!!!

The anti- Mormon anti-classy coach is such embarrassing BS.

That Mormon won a national championship and was a respected team captain of other young man at UK. That Mormon played in the NBA. That Mormon went to med school. That Mormon earned one of the most elite coaching challenges in college basketball.

If you hate him... Fine... But the schtick that he's weak/incompetent because he's a Mormon... And that he's not passionate about winning because he doesn't behave like a middle schooler and scream n stomp in a game is embarrassing for you.

Id bet he's lived a far more successful life than this poster... Who is likely alone...again... On Saturday night. Sheesh.

What specific actions must CMP take to show you that he is fighting for his team??

Over 50 for me. Everyone has a bad day. We just played a great team and we played poorly.
Yep. My only issue was Pope and his high road with the refs. I've been consistent with that for 50 years. I just don't like it when the refs are borderline cheating. Too many folks misunderstood my post. I probably wasn't very clear.

You are guilty of abandoning your coach today. We lost to a BETTER team. I know that’s hard for people to accept but we are NOT better than every team we play as things sit with our roster situation and I’m not just talking injuries.

Get in officials faces and challenge them. Refs are just going to abuse him if he never pushes back.
Let me get this straight - if only Coach Pope had shown up the officials, we would have won more games this season, especially today’s game! Which of our losses would have turned into a win had he followed your sage advice? Perhaps UK needs to look into hiring a “fight for your team” assistant coach. You may be the top candidate. Are you willing to relocate from GA?

No. There are things that are not being done NOW that have little to do with injuries, why you can't see that is puzzling. The coaching staff is failing in some areas.
Trying to throw a team together, not knowing who’s fit physically and who’s not creates huge inconsistencies versus a team that has everything together both talent and health but seeing as you’ve probably never played a sport in your freaking life and all you do is bitch about Pope, I could see how you wouldn’t understand it

Just to throw this in about the teams down attitude:

It is possible they learned of Robinsons injury being season ending before any of us did.
I know they are supposed to be representing, but knowing for certain the Robinson was not possibly coming back this season...or any college season...may have had an impact on the emotions of the game.

Just something to consider.
